This sucks. I've got new 458 coupe I'm sposed to pick up tomorrow. I called Hagerty to drop my 360 and add 458. They said they wouldn't write me because I had three claims - all under $3,000 over the last five years. They said they would write my 360 - but not the 458 because I'd be insuring it for$300k. Any thoughts??

Ask them to write it for a high deductible -- as high as you can stand and they will take. Otherwise try State Farm. Good to self insure for the small stuff.

Use your home owners and other auto insurance in a package deal with a new company. Take it away from whoever you have it with unless they don't help you.

Allstate and State Farm insures the F458 (at least in Texas) as do several others as I found out looking for my coverage.

They all wanted my homeowners and full set of cars.

Try getting a bond if no one will insure you. It covers you legally and may buy you time to find insurance over time. Good luck. Best

call Morgan Duffy at HWI Motorsports Insurance (Fchat sponsor). Morgan insures a lot of uber-high-end cars and people....you should (or may have to) bundle all your insurance together.

It's great coverage so it's perhaps more expensive, but if you have a $5 head, buy a $5 helmet is my view.

Combo of that car and claims history makes things complex. If nothing else, Morgan will give you the best no-BS advice.

What were the claims on the car?

$3K over five years doesn't seem too bad. Depending on what they were of course.

I had a similar problem 2 years ago when I bought my new 458.
I ended up going with American Modern for my insurance policy.

I also hear that Chubb Insurance may be another option.

I usually always go with a higher deductible, around $ 5000. Anything less I pay myself.

Depending on what your driving record looks like and the details on those claims I may be able to help. Call my cell @ 508-904-0508 and I'll let you know what I'd need for info.

I had a hard time because my son lives with me and has had 2 accidents. Only Leland West and Chubb would insure me with my 458. I went with Leland West

How old is your son? Couldn't you just have him as an unauthorized driver driver on the F458 and the insurance company has no responsibility if he wrecks it?

Got it covered!!! MK Insurance 866 695 2774. Jackie Schneider - incredibly helpful. She made it very easy. Price was $2,600. Very fair. I HIGHLY recommend them. I'm not going to knock other companies - I talked to several today - IMHO these people are absolutely unbeatable.

I want to thank eveyone on FChat - it's why l like this place - I've always found FChatters to be really friendly and helpful. This is 2nd fcar for me - and I've learned a ton on FChat - and enjoyed the camraderie.

I'll be picking up tomorrow and posting pics!!!

I have State Farm. They have all my cars (4) and houses (3). They just switched the 360 to the 458 when we traded. Still have $1k deduct on all 4 cars. 100% glass coverage. Lots of rock/gravel on the roads.

If they get fussy we can switch to USAA which is probably cheaper but don't know if they insure Fcars and Pcars. ???? Anybody know.

What do you recommend? $5k on the cars and the houses.

The most State Farm will do on the deduct on the cars is $2k. No Problem doing $5k on the house.

I had three claims I think over three years.- one for $3,000 - one for $1,500 I think - and a rental car for $750 that I didn't know counted against me. Hagerty told me they go back 5 years - I think I had one more. I've learned - I'll never turn in a claim under $4,000 - not worth it. I got $5,000 deductible on fcar.

That's the way to go if they will write it. Some like State Farm won;t go that low. But the idea is that you self insure for the low risk stuff. Pay them to take the high risks that you don't want to take.

My son is 24 I was willing to sign a waiver but all the insurance companies would not accept the waiver because if he takes the car anyway the insurance company is held responsible. With Leland West and Chubb they accepted the signed waiver that my son could never drive my car which he wouldn't anyway. So try them at least they are reasonable.

I have been wondering how damage depreciation is handled by insurance. If there is significant damage, but not enough to total it, it can be repaired. However, the vehicle is branded with a major damage history and therefore depreciates significantly.

Ferrari North America on their website actually endorses Marsh insurance. Anyone have any experience with them?

My understanding is that Marsh is a broker. They are a huge broker one of the big 2. They likely write through some other carrier in the background.

I personally would not recommend making any claims on any insurance policy for under 7-10 grand as claims follow you. This goes for homeowners' insurance too.

When we got our F430 spider our well known insurer did not want to get involved. When my wife twisted their arm over several phone calls by threatening to drop all of our various policies within 48 hours their underwriters were more than happy to take it and at a very good price and no mileage restrictions.
