Hi all Cant seem to find any recent threads on this, so apologies for what is no doubt a regular question that iv missed. Almost at the first full year of owning my 599, and loving it, though not loving it being tucked away and not driving it. Roll on March. Was insured with Footman James for £1300 fully comp and 5k miles. They now want £3000 despite there being no claims or change of circumstances. Are there any firms that are more favourable than others for these cars, or just trawl the usual suspects and put the work in? Unless Footman James slash their price by half, i obviously wont be using them.
I have used Peter James https://www.peterjamesinsurance.co.uk/ ever since they spun off from Footman James quite a few years ago now. This is the first year that my premium has actually increased by more than a few ££s for as long as I can remember, and even now by only 10%. Not comparable, I know, but it may help to give you an idea, my premium this year (renewing now) of £1,461.05 covers 2 Merc DDs, E-type, Turbo R and the wife's T2 camper, unlimited mileage including business use, based in Newbury. Maybe worth a call.
Isn't there still the FOC scheme through Locktons https://www.locktonperformance.com/insurance-services/specialist-ferrari-insurance.html
as above have always been with locktons. fir me, very good overall package. scheme runs through various clubs. including foc. agreed value, my choice of repairer, ferrari track day cover, covered on any other vehicle, covers any other driver over 35 to drive mine, etc.
If you don't require anything beyond 'normal' cover then you will possibly find Admiral about the cheapest out there.
Echo the suggestion of Admiral... I have my Cali T insured with them - very competitive price, cheaper than our BMW x5 M50d
Been with Aviva for eight years with my 360; Full NCB and last years premium in October was £450. The previous year was £358, so I got caught in the insurance hike - but it's still nearly half the price of my Range Rover. Used all year round; and there's no insurance restrictions on mileage.
Footman James more than doubled for me on a 360 (Renewal was a few days ago) and added restrictions which made it a no-go. I used Lloyd Whyte and they insured me with substantial modifications to a 360 and the addition a fault claim in another vehicle on a 360 and an F430 for the same price I paid last year for the 360 alone with Footman James.
What should I expect to pay for an 812 in London in secure parking facility? Car will be 100% stock, no mods. No points on license, no claims ever made. Thanks
Everyone is the same, run it through one of the online comparison websites, they do include Ferrari's
The challenge with using the online systems is they incorrectly categorize where I park. They interpret it as a public car park. It's not, it's the complete opposite, highly secure private car storage. I need companies where I can speak to a human being and explain the situation. Lockton Performance is one such vendor.
I have one of my cars (not the Ferrari) insured through Howdens. They provide a personal service where you actually speak with someone who understands cars.
They have a very good reputation, I know them, they won't write insurance in London, even secure locations.
That's poor because as you said, they are good people to deal with. I don't know if you've tried Admiral yet but they were by far the cheapest for my 488 when I renewed last year.
I went with Admiral in the end, didnt bother searching too much, but they wanted £780 all in with UK and European breakdown etc. Couldnt believe Footman James over doubled my original premium.
I am thinking of getting a Mondial and just got a quote for £282 - limited to 2000 miles a year though and £30k value with excess of £500, but not bad really. Includes breakdown too. That’s with Admiral
