Agreed, got a quote from Famous today for my 550 and they were $800 more than what NRMA VVC renewal that I paid early this week. Gave up on Dawes a few years ago, they use to be very competitive but went through the roof a few years ago. Never had any luck with Shannons despite everyone saying they are great.

Quote was like for like. They didn’t ask any questions about who I was currently insured with, and the quote wasn’t given to me over the phone. Said that he needed to send to the underwriters because of the value ($350K) but emailed it to me within a few hours. Also got them to quote on one of my other cars, and they couldn’t better the NRMA price on that one either. Excess is also better with NRMA (less) and you do get choice of repairer. Give them a call, you might get a pleasant surprise.

no typo. It was a test mule. got the paperwork for it and a valuer came out and gave it the value for insurance. No way I would pay that much for it. I will need to park it next to Gary's 308 and hope for the best
