Haha I couldn’t ditch that post fast enough, my fuel gauge is all over the show, I was wondering iff I fill the tanks to the brim then switch power off via battery isolation switch, leave it overnight then follow usual re learn sequence will it reset the fuel gauge software?
So I regain an accurate fuel gauge

looks like you will have 3 months to find out. Good time to go through everything and test

 

Make sure you go through to the Vintage and Classic department and not the general car insurance department.

Ring and ask for the team leader, and it helps if you have more than one car with them, 5 of a mix of cars or even a trailer.

 

For NRMA VVC the car needs to be 15+ years old to qualify. So 2004 and older will be accepted

 

Did you get a quote from Famous?

 

Yep you'll have to wait until 2020 if my maths is correct...

 

I called Famous yesterday, asked for a new quote for all my cars.

Mate, I have NO idea how you are paying so little for all those cars on your policy.

Famous could not match what I pay with Shannons now for any of my cars. Only difference I found was Famous does not have a limited use policy like Shannons does and what I have on my Ferrari. That was the only bonus I saw with Famous.

But that doesn't excite me either as I haven't driven my Ferrari since November last year and have no idea when I will take it out for a spin next.

So back to the drawing board, I am going to ring around next days off just see if I get can get some better rates for the family cars.

I made a quick call to RACQ late yesterday afternoon and they also couldn't match what I pay with Shannons for the family hacks.

I will keep ringing around out just to see what they can offer me, but it looks like I might be sticking with Shannons again for the next 10 years lol.

Those are the rates I pay Pap....Not sure why they wouldn't do them for others...Did you tell them you were Greek in any of the conversation you had with them?..... I know their Jewish rates are hefty.....

I will keep looking into it of course and might have to mention that I am a Greek God of some sort to see if that will change things.

Yeah, the only bonus was they don't have limited driving policies like what Shannons offers.

So if DO make the change to them, that would be only the difference. Price wise was slightly more that what I pay with Shannons.
