So I have searched but couldn't find a how to or video on how to remove the intake mainfold. Do I have to take the bolts from the bottom and take it apart like a clam shell?

Google picture of what I want to take off.

Any help would be great. Image Unavailable, Please Login

    Hi Alex,
To remove the Intake manifold, you just have to loosen the clamp underneath the Manifold itself (#9) To get there
    - remove the shield around the coolent reservoir
    - remove the hoses which goes to the manifold
    - remove the bolts of the coolent reservoir and put it aside ( i used a wire to hold it in position)
Now you get access to the 8 clamps, which you have to loosen to get the intake manifold off. Be carefull with the semi rings (#8) , those will fall apart if you loosen the clamps to much.

    Greetings

It’s quite fun putting them back on too with the engine in the car...

The car was well taken care of, I'm just taking stuff off to powder them.

But when I took the coolant tank off I found this.

Anyone know where I can get the little spacer that the air boxes screw on to?

One of mine ripped in half.

Got everything out. Going to drop off stuff at paint and powder coated tomorrow. Also got silicone intake hoses, also going to check vacuum lines and fuel lines. Then got new air filters on the way too.

Anything else I should replace over the winter under the hood?

Don't try and powder coat the plenums, they are plastic so it won't end well :)

Clean them up. Then get some high temp silver VHT and a fine foam roller. Spay the VHT into a pan, wet roller and repaint the silver markings.

I want to take the heat shield off the top of the exhaust so you can see the exhaust. I doubt there is a real downside to having it off

Bad idea. It's there for a reason. You don't want to heat the intake air anymore.
