So I noticed one of my vacuum lines had come off and split from the intake port. I was going to just replace it, but it turns out the thing snakes down into the driver rear wheel well and then into a hole that goes... somewhere? There also appears to be a metal piece inside the tube. I'm guessing it's some kind of filter but I have no idea. So running down to the parts store to get vacuum hose isn't going to cut it. I was hoping someone could tell me what this is for and where I would be able to 1. find a replacement hose 2. where the heck does it go and what does it connect to on the other side I've included a picture of the port that the hose attaches to, it's on the left side looking from the back of the car. It sounds like it might be the vacuum line for the ignition system, those units were driver's side trunk on my QV. That needs to be working for you to have the correct ignition advance at lower power conditions....when its unplugged or leaking you get max ignition advance all the time.
It you pull up the trunk floor on the left you should find the Marelli ignition boxes, the hose is teed to connect to both boxes iirc
mk e is right, different umber but this is what the Digiplex boxes looks like where that vacuum hose goes to. Image Unavailable, Please Login
