I'm thinking of starting a club this fall at Notre Dame that will have 2 major events - going to the Detroit Auto show and possibly having a car show on campus... there's already a club that goes to the Detroit Auto Show which is technically an engineering club but I think most people join it just to go to the show for free. So I might start a new club or see if the president of that club would want to expand.

Anyway I think it'd be great to have a car show on campus but of course I need to see if there'd be interest. I think about 50-60 cars would be an impressive number especially for the first year. I'm sure I could get at least 25 from South Bend (I only know of a few personally but I think a big ad in the newspaper would bring them out of hiding) and maybe 10-15 more from Fort Wayne. I know a couple would drive all the way up from Indianapolis, hopefully some could come down from Michigan (there was a 250 Cali Spyder from Michigan at the ND Art Museum my freshman year), and hopefully some from Chicago. So would anyone on Fchat be willing to drive over here if there were a car show? Of course I still have to get this approved and it wouldn't be until the spring but I'm just trying to get an idea of how many people would come

    Thanks :D

That sounds like fun. What dates are you considering?

It'd probably be a Sat / Sun in April so, not for a while. I'm going to apply for funding in the fall though, so that I can put an ad in the newspaper and make a website and stuff like that. Oh yeah, I forgot, it'd probably have a small registration fee and the money raised would go to a charity, not sure which. But there'll also be awards :)

I'd suggest getting some ND cheerleaders to sell tickets or something and then you'd have no shortage of cars... :D
