I had decided to not repeat the program for 2005. It took much time and headache for not too much in return. Only about 50% of those that committed to the sponsorship actually ever paid and received their benefits. However, this time around I would be more efficient getting the t-shirts, graphics, models, and framed pictures as I've already done it this last year. So maybe less headache for me.

I don't even pretend it's a real "race team". I mostly race my Rx7 where I could total it for the cost of one Challenge panel. However, I do show the car quite a bit and will do at least a couple races. This past year I did about 6 car shows, 6 track days, 1 race, and the car was in Monterey. This next year the schedule will be about the same, but the car will be in Indianapolis instead of Monterey. Might go to at least one other national event.

Anyway, the above shouldn't be a reason to sponsor the car. The value would maybe just come from supporting FerrariChat.com and getting the equivalent of Rossa benefits for the entire year, having your kid be the sponsor so they can say they sponsor a "race team" (like Tom D.), and then the other tangible sponsor benefits...

    Title Sponsor >$2,500

    • We can talk about what suits your needs the best.

    Major Sponsor $1,000

    • Large graphic of what you want on car. Like Huffman, Andreas, and Savant last year.
    • 5 high quality polo shirts and 5 t-shirts with logo.
    • 1:18 Exact Replica model.
    • Large framed poster print of car in action with pop-up image showing your graphic.
    • Come to Dallas for a day of rides at the track (potential driving yourself of other cars if qualified) and then dinner on FerrariChat.com
    • Rossa Subscription benefits for one year with title of "Race Team Sponsor"

    Sponsor $250

    • Name of your choice listed with other sponsors in apx. 1" high letter on side of car.
    • 1 high quality polo shirt and 1 t-shirt with logo.
    • 8.5 by 11" framed print of car in action with pop-up image showing your graphic.
    • Priority over non-sponsors for ride alongs when available.
    • Rossa Subscription benefits for one year with title of "Race Team Sponsor"

So vote on your interest level so I can decide whether to continue this program next year. If you vote to one of the sponsorships I want you to be fairly certain you would follow through with it. If I decide to continue the program, I will be calling up those that voted for it.

Please let me know if any questions. Below are some pics you have already seen of the benefits...

Sponsorships are a tough row to hoe, padner......

50% of potential participants is actually pretty good IMO, so don't feel bad about that.

    Best wishes in the future!

'Cafe Zupra' would look pretty good on the back fender! Like on the 'FFQC Kart Team'!!!! LOL!

Of course I don't have problems with other users sponsoring others or several users doing the same. :) A Zupra fund drive? I can contribute a little.

Well, I don't understand when someone says they're going to do something and they don't, don't say you are going to if you aren't.

I know its not quite the same but since they do support the site and some for a longer period of time, I would have every sponsor that pays to advertise on this site on your car. Give a little something extra back for there advertising dollars which hopefully brings them back for more and more. I know its not what you asked but just an idea.

I've thought this over, but with 25+ sponsors there wouldn't be much room left for anyone else. Of course if one really wanted to be on the car, I wouldn't have a problem with that at all. I've tried to send sponsors free polo shirts in the past.

Is that the world has come to...? You're struggling to give away free stuff... How sad... :)

i'm voting 'Potentially" 'cause i could "potentially" give up $250 sometime in the future...

...but i wouldn't want it to look like i was sponsoring; i would want it to look like YOU put it there; something ego-stroking like, "Carbon McCoy, My #1 Poster." - if that's not too many letters, of course... :D

Maybe, if i DO sponsor in the future, it should be extended to say, "Carbon McCoy. My #1 Poster...
    ...who can't do anything right."

    :)

Not if we do the Race Team again for 2005. It would only go to race team sponsors.

Now that I have a business that will be of use for such a sponsorship, I can see that this could potentially be a good thing. Now all I have to finally do is actually subscribe & make some money to be able to sponsor you. Maybe I can get with the local F-chatters to help out as well.

I'd more than likely pay the $250 if I could use the bouncing blue lambo exclusively as my avatar. :)

And yes, I'm serious. I want my blue bouncing lambo.

    Rob,

When I signed up to sponser the car and you, It was not for the free shirts and stuff. It was more to support the cause. I understand your need to make it worth the $250 or $1000 but I think you will find that most of us just did it to do it. I did not get the picture or a ride and I don't think I ever bugged you about them. I did it for the spirit of the cause. If you don't do a formal program, do it on the side. I am sure that there are a few people that still want to support the team. If only to get the title under our user name. Shirts and models and pictures are fine. But if you have a sponser paying $250 and you are giving away $200 in stuff. It does not make fiscal sense. I say $200 because I am sure running your car is not cheap. Factor in your time to get the stuff made and shipped, it does not make a whole lot of sense.

I'll pay the $250 again in shirts for you or in cash or in whatever. I like the title and the rossa subscription. I can make my own shirt. :)

Look at it this way. If you get 3 @ $250 and 1 @ $1000, that is $1750 more then you had that morning.

    Continue the tradition.

    my .02 cents

The framed pics are still coming, just very slow. Photographer took the pics 3 months ago, but he hasn't answered my recent messages. We'll get them one way or another, I'll do it on my new photo printer maybe. Anyway, I feel very strong about giving the sponsors everything I promised. Whether I give you a ride this year, next year, or 5 years. You will always be a priority when available.

    Rob,

Cool. Next time I have a 8 hour layover at DFW because AA cannot get their act together, I will let you know.

FWIW - I would rather pay $250 for one year for just the title and rossa access then pay the $50 for just the rossa access.

BTW - When does our rossa access expire? Soon I would imagine.
