Took a drive today in my 2004 360. Decided to use auto mode just to exercise the function. While pulling away (moderate throttle) from a stop light the car lurched and almost died. Got the dreaded "SLOW DOWN" and "engine" symbol on the annunciator. The car had extreme reduction in power, so low that it would barely develop enough torque to pull away from a stop. I was REALLY WORRIED!

So, I limp back home and call my excellent mechanic, Mark, at Sphere Motorsports in Houston. He asks me a few questions about aggressive acceleration (nope), any unusual engine noise (none), etc... suggests the ECU needed to be reset.

Turn off the battery for 20 minutes, restart the engine, rev it up and drive. All sins apparently forgiven -- no annunciator warnings. Took a long, more aggressive drive and the Capristo Stage 3 reassured me that all is well.

I thought others may have had similar experiences or comments about this.

Apparently it was revolting for being in auto mode.

A better option after re-starting would have been to let the car idle for a short period of time so that ECU 're-learned' it's throttle settings etc.,
