great pics, i think you should do a separate thread for all of us to see. i am not promoting "butchering" a 308. but there are lots of 308s out there that have gone to scrap because the engines? transaxles are so expensive to rebuild and replace.

the v8 conversion would be great for a fun car someone wanted to keep and care less about resale and future value.

my hats off to you for a job well done, i would love to see the car sometime.

the loss of the carb ferrari sounds may be offset from a solid lifter american V8 growling through short pipes with power to match its looks. 308s are fun, but very , very slow, and the brakes suck compared to any serious sports car.

i have had 4 308s now, so i have put my money where my mouth is, and my 84 911 Carrera is 10 times the car my 77 GTB is. but i drive them both for different reasons, and still love the 308 for its charm and feel.

i would not sell either and still buy a turbo Esprit. a Lambo Jalpa and Urraco and have "MY" dream car collection. sucks i missed the boat on the Countachs. but i need to make room for some new toys this year. my GTB will be again on the list for sale soon. i do need to wash it ! :)

    hey SKIP,

one more thing and i will be quiet....

switch your lights around in the back, they are backwards. the turn signals should be on the outside, but it does get more protection being where it is. the turn signals are very, very expensive now.

I know the tail lights are switched. I put the reds on the outside to act as side markers because I removed the original ones. As for the comments on resale value; As someone said earlier, building a car that suits you isn't about resale value. I don't build show cars or sunny weekend toys, I build cars that I can drive anywhere and anytime and in the unlikely event that I do have a problem, the nearest Pep Boys or Autozone will probably have the part that I need and they're open on weekends. Check the latest Barrett-Jackson auction figures and you will see that well done modified cars are selling for as much if not more than original versions. Besides, original 308s aren't bringing very high prices anyway.
