Spent quite a few hours watching various years LeMans dvd's last evening.

Most interesting was a Ferrari V-12 running in the GTS class on Fossil Fuel. Another was the NASAMAX bio-ethanol (corn mash - green fuel technology) proto-type. It ultimately did not finish the race, but it was NOT due to the alternative fuel but as I recall a transmission problem.

Anthony Davidson drove one of the ProDrive cars - 550 Maranello. Tomas Enge drove again for ProDrive (he drove for Aston Martin this year at LeMans and drives the Aston in ALMS).

Guiseppi Risi had two 360's entered - red No. 94 and silver No. 95. Unfortunately, neither finished the race. Let's hope that the 430's can pull off a win at Petit LeMans this year and that Risi Competitizone will get another invite to the 24 hour.

Jon Field was leading in the now LMP2 class for awhile. He was driving a Lola-MG No. 27.

Tom Kristensen and Dindo (among several other prominent drivers - Johnny Herbert (talk about an almost MS look-alike at that time)) were on the Bently team - that was a magnificant car for sure. It provides an insight as to the probable appearance of the proto types to be running in 2010.

The races that are run on Saturday morning prior to the start of the 24 hour had a beautiful 1970 Ferrari 512 S leading for awhile until it developed problems. (I am thinking that's the same one we saw in Canada many years ago when they had the Can-Am cars there for a support race to the F1 race.)

Watching the prior 24 hour races is an excellent way to spend one's evening -whether it be watching the dvd's on the tv or on a big flat screen computer monitor.
