Interior Color matching

Can anyone say with certainty if the seats and door panels are supposed to match the vinyl A-post trim pieces that are a lighter color than the seats? My car is a 78 GTS with black exterior. I plan on using the Leatherique products to restore them. There doesn't appear to be too much fading under the map pocket flap or behind the speaker grill. This would lead me to believe that they weren't the same color as the A- post trim when new. Don't want the seats/door panels to be the wrong color. Thanks for the input.

I recently took on a leather restoration project that looks similar to yours. I'm not sure about your A-Pillar question, but will suggest that you clip a piece of leather that isn't faded (under the tunnel/console) send to the Leatherique folks. They'll take care of you. (I originally ordered by "number" and it was too light...so I had them do a color match from a swatch....dead-on!)

Follow the instructions and be patient. After several, several weeks of applying Rejouv. Oil, cleaning, prepping and dying, my 23-year-old, poor, neglected seats/interior looks brand-new.

If you hit any snags, just yell.

 

That's an odd treatment, the color insert on the pillar, on all my three it's black vinyl like the dash....

But the OEM ceilings on the GTBs is a light cream vinyl, as are the sunvisors.
