I am going to redo my console pieces this week and i have a few questions. 1. Once i get the center console and uper console out, is it as easy as unscrewing the instruments from the panel itself? 2. how do you take off the inside door handles? 3. in the center console where the door lock buttons are, they are not lit so i probably just need replacement bulbs (since the gas button still lights up) Can anyone tell me where and what type of bulbs i need to get? thanks ahead of time Fchatters!
To disassemble the entire center console: 1. Remove the ashtray buckets 2. Undo the screws under the ashtray buckets, remove ashtray & disconnect the ciggy lighter 3. Remove screws from shifter gate 4. Remove gear knob 5. All the plastic panels will just slide right out. There are no more screws holding them in place... 6. Instruments and buttons on the upright are held into place by screws from the back. Once the upright is pulled, you'll see all the mounting points. Label the harnesses so they get reinstalled in the correct location. 7. Treat your HVAC like gold. It's worth as much. Door handles are held in place by a single screw underneath the pivot point. Look under the hand and you'll see them. Remove the screw, and pull the handle away from the car, it'll pop right out. Bulbs are available at most autoparts stores. Just pull the old ones are carry them to the NAPA or AutoZone counter. They'll match them up.
