Yes, there are two threaded studs pointing downwards from the angle piece, and you have to remove the cover panels for the Motronic ECU's and search upwards until you find the little nuts - not real easy to find, but they're there. Once the nuts and washers are off, the trim piece lifts straight up and off. If you're just tucking the carpet into place, you might not need to take the piece off, just loosen it.
