I had a 575 dropped off to me for re-commissioning after a bit of a sit. When it arrived there was mold spores on the dash. However, I didn't notice the mold on the seats, back shelf etc. The car is infested.
I had it parked inside, but it stunk up the shop like nothing I have ever experienced. It literally smells like a rotting body.
It been sitting outside now for a couple days, but the weather has been crap, so the windows are up, and I haven't been able to air it out except for one afternoon.

My question..it's obviously a health hazard at this point. Is there any chance of saving this car, short of a complete interior gut?
How would one attack such a bad case of mold? It's obviously in the HVAC system also. Such ashame, because it's a beautiful car.

    Thoughts and advice is appreciated.

Ozone machine can help with stuff on surfaces and in air, but I think you'll probably need to remove seats, door cards, dash, etc, to really thoroughly clean it with scrubbing and some kind of cleaner. I saw ammo nyc guy do something similar with an ozone machine, which you don't want to be around when it's in use btw.

    edit: check this

My 328 ended up with a mold infestation a while back (heavy rains and a leaking top and a unscheduled storage = green everywhere!). I had to gut everything and retrim everything leather, replace the carpet, replace the seat belts and the mechanisms for them, new door cards. Fortunately the dash was vinyl, so it could be cleaned up. Interestingly, my car insurance covered a good chunk of it under comprehensive. That might be something the owner would want to pursue.

That's a hazmat situation. You can get really sick from that. I would not touch it. If you do it's bunny suit and respirator and I'm not joking!

This is the best approach but there may be more to it.
I bought a Jensen Interceptor five years ago and although the leather and interior parts had absolutely no wear at all, mould was practically everywhere, even inside the air vents.
They dismantled everything and put the whole interior in an ozone chamber for two days prior to removing and treating the leather from the seats that had to be refoamed as they still smelled like rat piss.
From the receipts I can tell you they used a bunch of Wurth products such as “klima disinfection”, “Sodium hypochlorite”, “aktiv clean”, “EVAPO fresh” and “EVAPO mat”.
I was determined to keep the interior as original as possible so they had to give a big fight with odour and mould, but they finally succeeded.
I don’t think your case is as bad as my Jensen, but the guys who were working on my car said that they had to keep it in another remote storage until they finish because of the foul stench it had.
And then I had to pay another guy to recondition the leathers that were dry and brittle but that is another story.
