Interior Restoration - Painting the threads?

    I have and 87 328 with tan interior that I'm about to redye. I can't decide what to do about the threads.

    For those of you that have been through this already, did you just paint over them, cover them, not even think about it?

    I'd appreciate your input on this before I tear in to mine. Maybe I'm overthinking it.

    I had my tan interior redyed 9 years ago (and it's due again). The seats came back with the thread dyed tan just like the leather.

    It turns out that the threads get dirty much faster than the leather. It may seem odd, but this is a positive thing. Quite quickly the thread begins to stand out again from the leather and no longer look like they they've been dyed.
