Crossram: Really, really nice job you are doing on your car. Please keep posting photos of the ongoing work. Mechanicals also.
Looking really good. my dream is to someday take this exact body and graft wide steel wheel well flares on to arches and fill wells with 15 inch polished Cragar wheels with 75 series wiiiide tires...The stance is phenomenal..change out tail lights to sequential fords..and of course " Paint it Black.! Please keep posting pics!
That car is customized quite a bit. Starting with the engine, I believe. I don't think they ever put Cleveland's in these. But it's nicely done. Less than $100K would be a decent price these days.
I think a redo of the interior would bring this car's value up a notch. The eggplant color is unique; not unlike Ferrari's "Prugna". I almost bid on a blue one at a RM auction a few years ago but I could not fit my 6'5" frame comfortable inside.
I beg to differ.. Near the end of the run there were Clevelands I had all 3 variations in late 70's... a 289 and 351 windsor and a 72 cleveland.
Didn't know that. I stand corrected. I had a 1967 with a 289, and the name "Torino" (not "Italia"). I wish I still had that car. Solid disc brakes and all.
sold but was really nice with clevelands https://www.hemmings.com/classifieds/cars-for-sale/intermeccanica/italia/2343964.html https://classiccars.com/listings/view/1156321/1972-intermeccanica-italia-spyder-for-sale-in-culver-city-california-90232
Hi Dan, interested in what you sorted in relation to the bushing problems, I also have a 68 so any info would be a great help. Cheers Lee
Gerry Sung’s Intermeccanica Italia Spyder is on Bring a Trailer right now. You may recall his was restored by Paula and Henry’s crew at Intermeccanica in British Colombia, Canada. There are some great photos of the car in various stages. Interestingly the body was being considered as a buck for Intermeccanica to make new Italia’s from fiberglass. In the end, they just restored it. I’m sure some comments from our group here would be very helpful to the discussion! https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1969-intermeccanica-italia-spyder-2/
Meanwhile here in the Bristol area of the UK I take mine out as often as weather allows. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Alright, it seems that the old Intermeccanica Enthusiast Club website, which was ancient, is down. I don't have all the (sometimes contradictory) details and pencil drawings from that site, but I did manage to copy and email some of the part numbers, especially for the front end to a friend years ago. So I dug them up and will post them here. Please keep in mind that "definitive original parts" lists do vary: Taken from hand written notes/drawings by J.M.Wolf 6/19/74 Bilstein - replacements through High Performance Auto Accessories Nut, washer & bolt from Zelenda or any other supplier S & V Imports Lower Control Arm Upper Control Arm 1. To stabilize the front end further the factory installed a cross brace between the front end towers. On a '69 it can be installed using heavy wall conduit (1") with ends heated & crushed & 1/2" holes drilled - Weld Volkswagen seat bolts in front of shock mounts & install. Seat Belt Nut is locking type Lock Washer or Spacer Grind head on angle so bolt will be upright *Seat Belt hardware is nice because the bolt is fine thread & has a non-threaded shank- Nut is locking type & high quality. Here is an updated parts list for the Torino/Italia. As before, be sure to check that these parts will fit your particular car. In some cases I have been sent two different sets of part numbers for the same part. This may be due to a switch in parts during the model run. Any additions to this list will be appreciated and will be sent to other owners. Spectacular car listed by Bill Noon on BAT: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1969-intermeccanica-italia-spyder-4/ I don't care for the red-piping in the interior but otherwise looks straight and mostly original. Predictions for where the bidding lands? I will guess $135k
Hello I just what we believe to be The number 4 Omega it’s missing a few pieces and I was wondering if anyone could help me out with what came from what ? Thanks in advance
Yesterday I was lucky enough to bring home the first Griffith. #600601E has been basically hidden away with my friend Mike since 1972. If any of you have knowledge of this car please share it! Mike lived very near me all of my life and I had only seen the car in 1983 despite being friends and spending time together, it was only last month I was able to get in and see it again before making the purchase.
It’s always nice to buy new toys . Did you have any pictures? I have the number 4 Omega which I am starting restoration on soon .
May we see photos of these cars please? By Omega, do you refer to the closed car, or one of the eleven open top cars?
All of the Omega,‘s were coupes they did not have an open top Omega,, and there were only 33 built. It was 289 high output powered except for the first few, which is mine which just has a regular 289 in it
Actually there were 11 convertibles produced with the name "Omega"; they ran Buick V8s. It gets very confusing with the limited history of these cars, and the sharing of names like Torino, etc... But rest assured, there were 11 Omegas built topless. One won it's class last year at Pebble Beach, entered by the owner of the Green Bay Packers. I can try and dig ups some pics soon.
