hi, thought to put this out there, in case others have experienced it or if someone in future has same thing.

couple weeks ago.. during a drive in the morning, it was quite cooler out.
so when the car reached full operating temp, well into the drive..
I wanted some heat, so I engaged the compressor ( button out) and had temp knob at full heat.

I own the car 8 years, car never had an issue blowing heat previously..
but no heat was coming, still driving.. and nothing, no heat.

so now my OCD kicks in while driving.. not so fun lol..
after playing around with the knobs randomly, and I know compressor button has to be out.
finally nice hot air started to flow.

reached destination for lunch, and then headed back out.. whenever I turn off car, I always push compressor back in "off".

long story short.. wanted heat again, and continued to have the same problem.

after some serious OCD troubleshooting.. as I though it may be something with the flaps in the dash or whatever valves/pumps in the trunk..

I finally figured it out 100%. its the compressor button!

when the button is in out position "ON", it has a little bit of wiggle/play.

sitting at idle in my driveway, still experiencing the heat issue, I just kinda wiggled the button in the out position, and voila, heard the compressor clutch click immediately, and heat started to flow.. I tested this multiple times, with 100% accuracy..

so the intermittence, is the button not fully releasing, there must still be some contact inside, but once wiggled, then the compressor engages.

that said, the button still makes a full click in and click out, so there must be something still touching inside when out, not allowing the compressor to engage.
before figuring out it was the button, I did remove/open the A/C control panel/box.
I simply opened it to see inside. I did not touch anything or pop out any buttons.
but both the compressor button and recirculation button, there are these rods that stick up from the circuit board. and underneath each button is a plastic piece, that I assume touches these rods. to engage and disengage etc..

all that to say, if someone has experienced this and/or a fix.

I read a post of someone, that their button was jamming, so he popped the button off and there was a thin plastic stuck in it.

    thanks.
