I've looked at both the owner's manual and the shop manual for my F430 Spider as to how the intermittent windshield wiper is supposed to operate, but I am baffled. While i don't intentionally go out in the rain, weather here in Colorado is unpredictable and sometimes I get caught. The photo in the manual is below:

It shows some part of the wiper stalk is supposed to rotate to control the intermittent speed, but I can't find anything that rotates. The rubber section of the stalk turns the mode selector (off/intermittent/ low/high) and nothing else on the stalk moves. I'm obviously missing something or something is broken. Any clues would be appreciated.

Oh wait - this was dumb. The stalk up/down controls the off/intermittent/ low/high and the rubber rotate controls the intermittent operation. I just have to fix the rubber as noted in another thread. Sorry for the error.
