    Password for the wifi?

Best thing to do is go into the wireless router and take a look there. Some routers don't blank out the password and you can view it there.

Do you have a device that you currently use to access your wireless internet?

If so I would do this:

If you have a Windows based computer...
Go to Start, Run (or search bar if it's a Vista or Windows 7 machine)
    type in: cmd
    a black box will appear
at the prompt type in: ipconfig
Look for Default Gateway (i.e. 192.168.0.1)

Now open a web browser like IE, Firefox, Chrome and in the address bar type in the address that is your default gateway

You should get a login screen or even just a menu for the wireless router
From there look at a wifi setup page or something similar and see if you can find the password in there.

    Hope this helps!

Which is most likely going to ask for the forgotten password!....... Maybe not, but if it does a "hard" reset back to factory defaults is the next option - Depending on the "modem", it may or may not have a default password - If it does, a quick Google for your model # will turn it up.

While you're there, check that access to it from the outside is also disabled - Not essential, but good practice. And, if you've gone back to defaults - CHANGE IT!......

    Cheers,
    Ian

There is software that will let you recover passwords for wireless routers that you've used on your computer. Can't remember off the top of my head though.

Nirsoft have software that will reveal passwords hidden behind asterisks. If that doesn't work you are back to resetting the router to factory defaults.
Post make and model of router for more help.

WHOA... be aware if you reset your router to factory defaults, there's a pretty good chance you'll lose internet access to your whole house. (Then you'll need to get your ISP involved again. )

BEFORE you do that... take 2 minutes to google the make a model of your router and the word 'default password' and see if whoever configured it left default password in place. You might get in the router in a few minutes and make your life much easier.

If you post the make and model of your router and your ISP someone here can probably help you solve the problem while minimizing the risk of screwing something up.

That would likely be a different password that what he is looking for. Admin password versus the wifi password.

Pete, did you get this working ok?
