Does anyone here use a desktop internet radio? I have been using an Echo Dot for 5+ years, it works GREAT, but I am at the point where I can no longer stand the constant commercials AMAZON pumps to it. Twice I have had nearly 30 constant minutes of commercials - the same ones over and over, and over, and lately, most of the time I get 4-5 minutes of content, followed with 5-8 minutes of commercials.Over and over.... I know it's Amazon doing it because I listen to the SAME station directly from my Laptop and don't hear anywhere NEAR the same commercials, let alone the same number of commercials. I am looking at a C Crane CC WiFi 3, runs around $120 Ideas?
Not a desktop stand-alone radio, but I have been well pleased with my Ocean Digital WR-10 internet component tuner. Plugs into my integrated Amp via conventional RCA cables. Zenith Classic Rock out of Cork, Ireland is my Go-To internet Station. Zero commercials!
Yeah, that won't work for what I want but I really appreciate the reply. I find a lot of stations like that just screwing around on Radio Garden. PS - but I did search on your 'Ocean Digital' and found this, which I will take a hard look at: https://www.amazon.com/WR-800-Internet-Speakers-Stations-Relaxation/dp/B0B21121TQ/ref=asc_df_B0B21121TQ?mcid=d5e76b5d647a3d239f10d0ccadec5bfe&tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=693470127118&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2201300309978106489&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9024579&hvtargid=pla-2257715414592&psc=1
Based upon it being the same brand unit that I have, I think that you'd be well served by the tabletop radio you've noted above. For the reasonable cost, I'd give it a go! Cheers - DM
