Company called Aiirmesh offers wireless internet services to people in cerritos. I subscribed but i have more than one computer. My printer is connected to one of my computers. In order to print I use a wireless router so that all the computers can print through that one computer. The wireless router use to be connected to a dsl phone line.

Is it possible to get a wireless router that will receive the incoming signal from Aiirmesh wirelessly and offer internet services to all of my computers? Then my computers can all be connected through the router and be able to print again.

Right now if one of my computers connects to Aiirmesh then they have to log off my router.

    Thanks in advance

    Two different technologies.

To my knowledge, no one makes an affordable home wireless router that will connect to wireless broadcasts and allow local wireless computers to connect to that router for File and Print.

I think you could setup a computer to do it.

You would have to allow users to share the broadband connection.

Won't work. He is getting an IP from one wireless ISP and the other computers are getting a DHCP from his DSL router.

Can't you put in a wireless card to access broadband and connect the wireless router to a LAN card plugged into the other card as a bridge. I'd try it........

He would need a wireless access card from his wireless ISP and have his home DSL router connect to that.

Let's see are you saying that I can connect one of my computers using my wireless card to Aiirmesh, then connect a router to that card? I'm so confused.

If dsl / cable can connect to a router and provide internet access to local wireless computers, why can't the router get a signal wirelessly and provide internet access to local wireless computers???

    This is so frustrating.

I don't think you'll be able to configure the router......

This is what I'm talking about:

One computer - Install the wireless card and configure to work with your Broadband provider. Make sure the connection works properly. In the configuration, allow your broadband to be accessed by other computers on your network.

Add a Lan card and plug it into your wireless router.

Second computer - Use the wireless to connect to the router
    Third computer - same, etc.......

The only issue will be firewall and security and poss. speed degradation.

You wont know 'til you try.

Or you could call them and ask if they have a solution.

    $129/ month seems pricey

Question about LAN card hooking up to a wireless router. Aren't the cards designed to receive a signal not send a signal?

    They send / receive.......

Just plug the card via ethernet cable to the switch (hub) on the back of the wireless router

I don't think this will work. The LAN IN on the router is configured for DSL. I think he has a PCMCIA card.

    That's what I recommend........

    Nice pict....

Though, I think it might work better connecting the cable to a switch port and not the WAN port.

You can try it both ways.

I am betting on my IT guy. He keeps our office network humming.

Art's IT guy is right on the money.

I am not aware of a wireless to wireless router - I am sure someone makes one but I bet it ain't cheap.

If I were doing it, I would buy one of those tiny PCs in a small box and put a wireless card in it, and plug it into the wireless internet and run NAT on it, which is a lot more secure, but ICS will work fine for the layman.
