    1 for 14 years since 1991
2 I was 20 yeras old and realized hom much I love to stare at die cast.
3 my first model was and still is : a DIABLO (in it's prime) and my latest (yesterday) I got a Mercedes CLK GTR.
4 my favourite is a Lambo MIURA cos I think is the most beautiful car ever and I haven't seen other 1:18 Miura ever since.
5 currently I have 74 in scale 1:18 and about the same number in smaller scales.
6 not much really althought the Bugatti VEYRON will cost about $ 100 dollars
    7 VEYRON, VECTOR, MASERATI CORSE 12 , Ferrari 333 SP , 400i etc.

8 that would be a Ferrari 275GTB/4 or the MYTHOS I guess those are rare.
9 my 1:1 scale cars are: BMW Z3, Porsche, Mercedes, Mustang & a nice 900c.c. Firreblade Honda bike
I want to comment my collecting interest was boosted or fueled by the introduction of the Enzo back in late 2002

    1. With a focused mind and goal, about three years.
2 and 3. First cherished model was a Bburago 1984 Testarossa bought in Munich Germany. I think it was 85 or 86 and I was in, gee, third grade. On order I think I have some Mansell/Senna model and a Porsche 962. For Ferrari/Maser Im waiting till the MC12 comes out or BBR Enzo prices come down.
    4. Exoto Ferrari by Prost, HW Irvine F399, Bburago F50 and Tamiya 1:12 F50... I just think they look the best.
    5. Maybe 100
    6. $150 for 1:18, $300 for 1:12... still paying for the 1:1 scale
    7. and 8. 1:18 Senna Williams Renault with original Rothmans ad, ( I think Speedgear just sold out on them.) Custom made 1:18 James Dean Spyder where George Barris actually does the paint. Maybe a 575 to match my interior. And a real Enzo, which would be a garage queen surrounded by the diecasts in a museum type garage.

2: My mother threw my birthday party at the only Ferrari dealer in Kansas City at the time, Aristocrat Motors, and she gave me my first model then. I didn't collect seriously until I was 18, about '98.
3: Ferrari F40, still have it, though it is in pretty rough shape these days. Latest model I have bought is the new Shelby Cobra Concept
4: F2001 Schumacher, with all the decals stripped and painted to match the 2001 Monza Grand Prix, the race right after Sept. 11th, with the black nose. I bought it on E-Bay a few years ago from England.
5: Last count was about 120 1:18, with maybe 30 or so 1:24 and countless 1:43 and 1:64
6: The aforementioned F2001 cost about $125 for the car and shipping. Still the only one I ever saw listed.
7: I would like the commemorative 7th Championship F2004, but I still have my heart set on a 1:43 BBR, can't decide which model I would want that in though
8: Again the afore-mentioned F2001. Other than that I really like the AutoArt Mustangs I have, and my F355 Challenge (the raced-series with dirt and such) Hot Wheels.
I have pictures but will have to post later.

1 How long have you been collecting models?
    For about 18 years.

2 How did you get started and what age then?
I saw in a magazine a photo of a 1984 Testarossa and I was instantly hooked. At about the same time I came across the 1:18 Bburago Testarossa. That's when I felt the desire of buying for the first time. It was relatively expensive to me, but I got it anyway and the thrill of actually owning it made me decide to go ahead and start collecting. The 1:18 Bburago GTO followed soon after.

3 what was your the first model you got and the latest?
The 1:18 Bburago Testarossa. Latest model is more difficult. I got three in one buy (250 GTE - bang, 250 Tdf - bang, 126 CK - Brumm). As we speak, I have twelve models on the way in, arriving next week.

4 what is your favorite model in your collection and why?
Another very difficult question. Theyre all very dear to me. I have this 312 PB Prova, which is a fantastic model in its own right (it is ' only' Brumm, but the shape is awesome), which was bought and given to me by my father in law who sadly died last year. So that one is never leaving the glass cabinet.

5 how many 1:18 you have currently?
Uhm... I keep them elsewhere. I think about 8 or so. 1:43 is my thing.

6 how much is the most you've paid for a model?
    About $350. The Pocher 1:8 F40.

7 most desirable model you still don't have?
At the moment the 365 GTC/4 by Fabbri.

8 what is your rarest, hardest to find or most valuable model?
Don't know exactly. I suppose the AMR 512S Turin Showcar. Supposedly Painted by mr Ruf himself.

9 what 1:1 scale cars you have and drive?
    A big red Fiat.

1 How long have you been collecting models?
    For about 3 years...I guess

2 How did you get started and what age then?
My wife bought me a Lamborghini for xmas, when I was 32

3 what was your the first model you got and the latest?
A yellow Lamborghini Diablo (Bburago), latest,Murcie with a very special
paint, it changes form purple to blue/green metallic when you turn
    it in the light.

4 what is your favorite model in your collection and why?
Probably the white Murcielago, I've repainted it myself and was VERY happy with the result - as for the Ferrari, then I think it has to be the white original Bburago 360 Modena or a green metallic 456 GT (though quiz to answer)

5 how many 1:18 you have currently?
About 150-160 maybe more(I collect Ferrari and Lambo.1/18 ONLY) 2 other Fchat members are holding several models for me until I go visit them (Germany and Belgium)

6 how much is the most you've paid for a model?
About 100 USD - 40th Anniversary Murcielago - I got 2 of them, one for display and the other still sealed and stored away

7 most desirable model you still don't have?
    A champagne-ish coloured 456GT + some oldtimers Ferrari

8 what is your rarest, hardest to find or most valuable model?
I guess the white 360 Modena is quite hard to get - most valuable: the 2 40th Anniversary models

9 what 1:1 scale cars you have and drive?
    97' Volvo S40 - silver :D

pictures and comments about your collection will be appreciated and
    welcome.
At this moment I only have this pic to post of my collection, I've just finished to build my Ferrari room in the basement (see thread in the Europe section) and I still havent built the main Ferrari cabinet, which I hope can store upto 100 models, the cabinet you see in this pic store 60 models! :)
    Thanx
    Paul

PS: I dont collect racecars of any kind, just street cars:)

Hey Paul (from Isengard) In fact I specially was expecting your answers as you are kind of leader in this forum and you have inspired my collection to grow.
is this the champagne-ish 456 you're talking about?
it's colour called INGRID after some scandinavian famous actress Ingrid Bergmann
    Guys keep your replies/answers coming

BTW that 456 doesn't look much different than my 1:1 car, take a look: (post 21)

    Hi Martin.
Thanx for your kind words buddy ;) - you guys also gives me an inspiration to keep collecting, specially when threads like this comes up, love this stuff :):):)

Yes Ingrid Bergmann was an very famous Swedish actress, do a google on "Ingrid Bergman Ferrari" and you'll find several links.

No, sorry buddy, your pic is a gold/beige 456 GTA (I have that one) the colour I meant is more like light-light pink metallic...hmmm a mixture between bronze and champangne...its kinda difficult to describe the colour, but if I get it someday, I'll post a pic of it ;) it is very beautiful :)

Now I'm intrigued about the colour you're describing.
because one of my goals has been to have at least one Ferrari in every colour available.
So what colour is that you're talking about a 456? what make?

1 How long have you been collecting models? - Well...I guess hard core since 1997.

2 How did you get started and what age then? - I started by buying 1:64 scale Hot Wheels cars that I liked the full scale versions of. Age? Hell...I don't even know how old I am now...I stopped counting at 21 years of age.

3 what was your the first model you got and the latest? - The first was a 250 Testa Rossa in 1:64 scale; the most recent was a 1:18 scale Cagiva Mito 125 in black.

4 what is your favorite model in your collection and why? - My favorite would be my 1:18 scale Ferrari F40 as my oldest son bought it for me for Fathers Day with his own money.

5 how many 1:18 you have currently? - Are you ready for this? I am just about to break the 200 mark. In 1:64 scale I have around 3000. I really stopped counting those a while back though.

6 how much is the most you've paid for a model? - I don't keep track of that. If I did, my wife would kill me!

7 most desirable model you still don't have? - It was just released...the Maserati MC12.

8 what is your rarest, hardest to find or most valuable model? - My rarest would be my (stress the "my" part as I custom built it) 456M GTS - only 1 in the world. ;)

9 what 1:1 scale cars you have and drive? - Depends on my mood...either a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am; a 1991 Mustang Convertible; a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac (4x4); a 1999 GMC Suburban (4x4/AWD); or the wifes car...a 1996(?) Mazda Protege. Soon I think I will be adding a 2005 Pontiac GTO and/or a 2005 Mustang Convertible. I am also going to be getting a motorcycle this summer. Have not totally settled on which one yet though.

2 my first real collectors (not toy) model I got from my mother when I was something like 7 years old, but I really started collecting when I was 14 (21 years ago).
3 the first model from my mother was a Polistil F1 312 B3B (Niki Lauda). I still have it. I've ordered the 1:18 BBR Enzo and just bought a 1:18 Solido Lancia Stratos on Ebay.
4 I haven't got a particular favorite. I like accurate models such as Exoto but also models with a personal story, like the Polistil.
5 I've changed my collection over the years from 1:24 Bburago, to 1:43 Best, Bang etc. and recently I've decided to concentrate on 1:18. I've currently got about 75 models in different scales an sold more than 100 over the years.
6 The BBR Enzo I've ordered for 255 euro.
    7 I would like to collect sports prototypes in 1:18 such as 512 S and M, 312 P, 330 P4, 250 P etc. Anxiously awaiting the Exoto F40/LM.
8 It's a 1:43 250 GT Interim, built by a professional on order from a Tron model. It's built exactly like it ran in the retro Tour Auto and unique.
9 commuter: Mazda MX3 V6, weekend: Subaru Impreza GTT. Secretely saving for that 308 Dino or Mondial. :)

1 How long have you been collecting models?
    22 years . Collecting & building

2 How did you get started and what age then?
At age 10 I started building models, which eventually led to collecting cars , other then playing with them when I was younger.

3 what was your the first model you got and the latest?
First 1/18 was a Burago F40. First vehicle was a Matchbox tractor when I was around 4-5 . Latest was a Ertl 69 Z28, Maisto 300M & Maisto F50 kit(all arrived in the same day)
