Thats the Invicta S1. It was to be the car that would bring Invicta back onto the market sometime in 2003. Don't know if any were delivered or not.

Borrowing components from a larger manufacturer doesn't make it a kit car. The Chrysler Crossfire uses the old Merc SLK platform. Does that make it a kit car?

I believe that they built 6 of them. They are made to order only, and so far, it doesn't look like there is a stampede to buy one.
Cute carbon bodyshell, with all the gizmos inside.
The mechanic is all Mustang or supercharged Mustang.

Quite expensive, from £80,000 to £150,000. That must be like a $1/4m, no?

Probably well built, no doubt. Invicta tries to cash on individuality, making a 'bespoke' sports car. They call themselves 'specialist' manufacturers.

You could easily buy yourself a XK Jaguar or an Aston Martin V8 Vantage at that price I suppose, but that's not the point.

Like somebody told me once: "If someone has to ask -What is it?, You KNOW you got something rare"

Under your definition, a Lamborghini Diablo is a kit car. Nissan headlights!

I saw it at Top Marques Monaco this year. The most powerfull version has 600bhp! I don't really like the styling (it's not ugly, but I couldn't spend that much money on it if I had it), but their testcar (600bhp) sounded absolutely amazing! You could hear the supercharger whistle from a 100 meters away, and the sound coming from the exhaust wasn't bad either ;). When I asked an Invicta employee if the car had the optional sport-exhaust, he told me it used to have them, but they had to change it because "the police didn't like it" :D.
It's available as a 2 seater or a 2+2, and comes in both LHD and RHD.
