Sato 7th. Milka, well, tell me again why she is racing? "Graham Rahal was a conservative 17th, admitting that he had wanted to get the D&R car through qualifying without a dent. Which is more than can be said for Milka Duno's car, the rear of which she comprehensively wrecked in Turn 2 before having even set a time. Dale Coyne Racing insists her car will be repaired in time for her to take the start on Sunday." (It would be best for everyone else if the car would not start the race) Pos Driver Team Time Gap 1. good run for Marco. Tags continues to do a hell of a job with FAZZZZZT or whatever they call themselves
Once again, Donuts begs the question "Why?" I didn't see any of this--she posted no Q-time and started last. Looks like she would have finished dead last instead of 3rd-to-last were it not for a wreck. Her reason for retirement after 31 laps was "handling". I'd say that's pretty appropriate for most of her efforts.
She fell below the minimum lap speed, relative to the leaders. When they lapped her *again* in only nine (17 second) laps, it was time to get her out of the way. Heck of a job by Sato, before Lloyd cut across his nose and took away his downforce. (No blue flags in Indycar, Taco.) Did you catch the story about presenting a Japanese driver's license at the rental car counter in Des Moines?
Good race. Lots happening throughout. The track cam thing they had was very cool and no stupid animated gopher popping up on the screen. They need to seriously consider fixing the 1-2 bump on the track. Really happy for TK to get the monkey off his back.
That story was pretty good! "I've never seen one of these before" and then having to wait while he talked to his manager The race itself was good except for Milka almost taking out Marco, I enjoyed when the broadcasters said "she really shouldn't have been surprised that they'd be there" and yet, she was pretty shocked I'd say. Time to park it, I get the Citgo connection but surely they could find another, more qualified, driver in the country.
I'm really starting to warm to Sato. He cracks me up during the interviews. Seems really happy. Looking forward to seeing him learn and progress.
