So I thought I would give a quick update for those of you interested in how the new 4s works, and more specifically Siri. I bought the 4s on Verizon because I was tired of my DroidX and how slow it had become. I was always having it freeze, run slow, call the wrong person even though I clicked on the right one, etc. I had only chosen the DX because I hated ATT so much (had an iPhone 3gs at the time) that I just wanted back with big red. The released the iPhone about 2 months after I got my DX, so it was bad timing on my part.

Anyway, Siri works well. Very well. I drive 2.5 hours each way from Ft. Rucker to my home and family in Tallahassee, FL every weekend. My wife hated it that I was always driving and texting or e-mailing on the interstate, etc. (yes I know it was wrong, and I am glad I never caused any accidents). However with that drive I could get a lot accomplished that I couldn't normally during the week.

Siri really appealed to me if it worked as advertised because then I would never have to touch the phone. This weekend was my big test and guess what, it worked just as advertised. I didn't touch the phone the whole drive, using my bluetooth headset to do everything. I was listening to music, podcasts, texting, emailing, and it was all voice controlled perfectly. Its kind of a strange feeling, but Siri is learning how I talk and I am learning how it thinks and its becoming very scary how integrated it is becoming in how I work day to day.

In addition, I definitely notice the speed of the 4s over the 4 (my wife has one). I thought I would miss the nice 4.3" screen of the DX but I really don't even notice it.
Just thought you would like a quick update.

Thanks for posting, i am thinking of getting one and kickin the droid x out. Since the last update a few weeks ago, the X is extremely slow and freezes up.
Use a Mac at work and an iPad at hm. I think it's time for the iPhone

I got my 32gig 4S in white last week.

I had upgraded my 4 to iOS 5 when that came out so I was already used to all the new features except Siri.

Siri is far more impressive than I ever expected but I still think it's a gimmick.. or at least I have no desire to talk to my phone.

What has impressed me the most is the 4S has a much better "feel" to it than the 4 hardware wise. The vibrate mechanism feels different, it feels lighter... the whole device is just tighter and all around better constructed, IMO.

Also, the software runs NOTICEABLY much smoother thanks to the upgraded processer.

As someone that's upgraded to the "new" iPhone every year since the first one I'm very happy with it. I've played plenty with friends of mine with the latest Droid's, BBerrys, and Windows Phones... and the iPhone is still the one you want, IMO.
