Hi all, Picked up my very first Ferrari .. yesterday, still buzzing !!! ;o) But need a bit of advice on the phone side of things, I connected my Iphone 5 fine, it shows on the screen, connected to "Ferrari" .. and if someone calls it rings and I can answer it fine. However, despite people being contacts on my phone that call me ... instead of "XYZ Calling" ... it comes up with their phone number (as if the phone doesn't know who the contact is) and some gibberish 24 character binary number type line at the top on the photo below ... apologies for the photo being blurred, but the top line is 004B006100720066006EO ??? What is all that please, the second line is my friends number whose in as a contact and is in my contact lists when I scroll down, so thought it would show her name in that area not just her phone number as if unrecognised ? I've got a 2014 Italia and get the same thing on my iphone 5 calls when someone is calling via facetime. It still connects and the voice part comes through the car speakers but the display shows some random numbers as the caller. Incidentally the same thing happens in my merc E350. It someone calls via a regular phone call it picks up the caller out of my contacts and shows their name fine. Is is possible the incoming call was a facetime call?
Sometimes it is just a corrupted contacts list. Erase the current contacts and re-pair the phone and allow the contacts to re sync. Don't interrupt the contacts sync. SV
Hi all ... thanks for your advice, it wasn't a facetime call ... and all are coming through, irrespective of being in my contacts on my iphone or not with random numbers and letters 004E00650069006C00200... Means nothing to me ... anyone else know what this is ... I've tried the suggestions above, thanks SVCalifornia ... but sadly it didn't work for me. Cheers all for any further suggestions anyone can offer.
not that it likely to help you much, but the numbers appear to be ASCII character codes in hexadecimal - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASCII the first one - Karfnx% the one above (004E00650069006C00200...) ( N e i l space) this says - Neil look like your callers ?
Radix you are spot on ... It does spell out friends names in ASCII hexadecimal as you say I've checked one more number out and it did spell that name correctly too ... It doesn't help but it may help Ferrari sort it I hope ? Thanks for spotting that as I never would ! Anyone else have this problem ... Or more importantly had it resolved ? Looks like the software is corrupted. Could be temporary. Perhaps a cold battery shutdown will help. Else it looks like a reprogram of the infotainment center will be needed. SV
Hi SV California, How do i do a cold battery shutdown please ... as never knew that was even an option ? Thanks in advance, as car is only less than a week old (used car not brand new) and had this issue clearly from picking it up ... would like to think they'll address the issue at the Ferrari dealership, must have happend before one would have thought. Cheers,
Easiest way is to remove the positive battery terminal with its quick disconnect. Let it sit for 2 minutes disconnected. Then put the terminal back on and wait an additional 5 minutes before trying anything. Like starting or setting the the time. Once you start the car then let it idle a few minutes and then drive it normally. Just note the car may be back to a state where it is learning your inputs but as it is new anyway, it is likely still doing so. Then try to re-pair the car to your iPhone. Let the contacts upload fully with interruption. See if the behavior changes. Good luck! SV I just had to go this on my Cali tho not for this reason.
Just in case anyone else has this issue ... the latest software update cured this issue .. so hope this helps someone else ! Cheers for everyones input !
How do I look it up on the screen and I'm happy to tell you Ripvega ... just don't know how to search that on the car ?
I'm not with my car right now but it's on the left screen under system and I think it says Firmware version or similar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
