My iPhone has been dropping A LOT of calls lately! I got so mad, I created a new website to log dropped calls. The next time you drop a call, report it here!

    http://www.mycalldropped.com

This can't be the best we can do in our modern age!

Yes, it's a known problem. You might be in an area with spotty coverage too, and your phone might have its own issues as well.

Your poll is kinda useless as it is...you need to ask for type of phone, type of service, area, time of day, indoors or out, moving or not, etc.

If you find iphones are doing it in more places, more of the time, you might have grounds for a class-action lawsuit! :D

My iPhone is also experiencing the same problems. I stopped by a Apple store for them to check it out. They said the 10% dropped call ratio is within normal limits. BS! So it's ok that I drop 3-6 calls a day because i'm a heavy user of my phone.

I heard about this as well but since I've had mine it hasn't been that bad of a problem. When I was with Sprint, that's a completely different story.

I have had the 3G and 3GS over the past few years (Both were / are Jailbroken), I travel every week to various cities around the US. I am on it dozens of times per day, short and long conference calls, etc.

I haven't had a dropped call in several months, and only a handful this year with the 3GS.

My wife took my 3G when I got the new 3GS - she was having some issues in Cincy where we live (I was not on the 3GS). They did the carrier update (several months back) once she got the update, she hasn't had any issues since. They were doing the global updates, which was most likely the issue.

I was thinking maybe it is location based. I travel extensively to Texas (Houston, Dallas, San Antonio), California (LA, San Fran), Michigan (Detroit), Atlanta, NY/NJ, Chicago, Florida (JAX, Miami, Orlando) and North Carolia (Charlotte and the Outerbanks). I do not have any issues in those areas at all with dropped calls.

These are all pretty big areas with good 3G coverage, so maybe it is your specific location?

I'm having a terrible time with it. I also have voice mails that sometimes take hours to show up in the system. Anyone else having that?

Yes plenty of people still dropping calls on very regular basis. And I do hear about the voicemail issue as well, though not as frequently.

I haven't had a dropped call in months, if not years.....

I have (very rarely) suffered the "delayed voice mail" issue however - It's so rare it's kind of impossible to know why - I don't think it's coverage related as I'm seldom out of 3G range.

    Cheers,
    Ian

I got rid of my iPhone because I was so frustrated with the service. I couldn't make a call from inside my house or even send a text from my own back yard. It usually took me 10+ attempts to send one. Thing is, I live in a city of 2+ million people!

The reason AT&T is getting so upset with Verizon over its latest "There's a map for that" ad campaign is that AT&T knows how weak its network is. The average call drop rate for iPhones in New York City is 30%!
