I had mine updated at one point - there's a specific software update. And it's worked at times, however right now I get the same thing. Works fine with my touch, but not my iphone. I haven't chased it since I had a touch that I just keep in the car and its got the same music as the iphone.

458 is fine, but no dice on the 612.

Ps so u think an iPod will melt or freeze if left in a car during northeast summer and winter? Only one way to find out for sure I guess!

I leave my 612 outside year round (snow tires) and leave the ipod in it, sometimes you get a "temperature warning" on the screen if its too hot/cold. Mine still works though, and I've basically left it in the car for 2 years :)

There is a fairly recent update for the 612 which actually involves physically changing the ipod connector. You might check with the dealer about this.

I was having various issues with my newer iphones until I had this update done. Now it will even charge my iphone 4!

Cool - will check out the update on connector change :)

re- the snows - I have the 20" challenge wheels and sotto zeros. You have to make a 10mm change from standard tires on the front if I recall correctly, but they work fine. I can check when I pick up my car in a few days time.

I imagine this update will apply to my scuderia as well.
The cable will charge my ipod/old iphones, but not my iPhone 4.
    Was this covered under warranty?
