Does anyone know of a cool holder for the iPhone to use while driving? And where is the best location to place it on the dash? I don’t want to end up looking like an Uber driver with the boring ones. I didn’t get the CarPlay option because constantly plugging it into the cable is really annoying. Thanks for the help.
Doesn’t your phone Bluetooth to the car anyway, and then use Siri to dial/text? I have CarPlay, but like you, can’t be bothered to cable it in each time, but phone works great on the Bluetooth anyhow
I have a magnetic base that slots into air vent either side. Steel patch self adhesives to back of phone. Good to 300kph. Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I pulled the slates off my 360 vent with a similar holder … had to get my surgical instruments to extract it and repair it….color me apprehensive. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Me too. The vents were not designed to handle the added weight/stress. Suppliers of these devices, like many in the aftermarket, aren’t mindful of such complications.
I just use the Belkin ones from the Apple store - they work fine in the vent. Also work for a wide variety of vents.
Some pictures of the Belkin mount for my iPhone 13 Pro max which I have in my Range Rover and Superfast. Works equally well in both with pretty good grip. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just fits onto the fins in the vent - very easy. My car is with my dealer so will ask him to take a photo which will probably take a few days.
I do the same for short trips, but when I take it on vacation or to visit families over the holidays, it's nice to have Waze or whatever running on the phone and up where I can see it at a glance and hands free.
My dealer didn’t quite take the pictures I wanted but you can see that the grips are small enough to fit into the 812 vents and grip pretty well. If you go over a fair sized bump the phone may drop off but no damage done!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I figured it out - the trick was not to get bothered by the fact that it's not centered in the vent, and that the vent is going to have to be as far down as it can go. It does block the large knob on the right, but that's better than using the center-right vent, which puts the phone too far from my line of site (at least for me). Image Unavailable, Please Login b
I'll have to try the next time I'm in the car (probably won't be for a couple of days), but I don't think so. I think that in that orientation the camera bump will prevent the phone from sitting flat against the magnets, weakening their hold. I suppose I could try mounting it that way and then putting the phone on the base plate upside down (maintaining the same phone-to-plate orientation), but at least some of the apps I would be using won't rotate 180° to accommodate an upside down phone. Nor could I attach it to a fin that is pointing directly up (instead of directly down as shown in the photo), because the base plate can't achieve a sufficient angle to the gripping post to let the phone face in an appropriate direction. It's not too bad as it is - I can still reach behind the plate on the rare occasions I need to reach that knob, and I only use the mount on longer road trips anyway.
This phone device works very well on the round vents of my GTC4Lusso & 812SF https://www.amazon.de/CAILIN-Kfz-Telefonhalterung-Mercedes-Benz-Handyhalterung-gla200glc260c260e300a200l/dp/B07RRQW9CD/ref=sr_1_4?crid=QA5E24RT9G8S&keywords=cailin+handyhalterung&qid=1647934681&sprefix=Cailin%2Caps%2C65&sr=8-4 View attachment 3304418 Gesendet von iPad mit FerrariChat
