I have a 2009 612 OTO, my ipod connects perfectly and works, but it doesnt charge any of the newer ipod models. I am using the older ipod nano and is the only one that takes charge from the connecter cable in the glove box. Does anyone have similar problems? Any soultions? I prefer not to install an alternative device, just want the cable to charge my newer ipod.

    thanks

    MJ

Hi, i have the similar problem in my 599 and ipod touch. What i did is, i had a bluetooth-device installed at the aux-port of the radio; now, the ipod transmittts the music via bluetooth to the radio and it can be charged with a cable from the firelighter. the allready built in bluetooth in the radio does not comply with the ipod. Regards--Emanuel

My ipod works perfect except for the charging. No issues with playlists, interface or connectivity.

    Ricky,

Have had no issues (touch wood)...all ok. When am in town, I drive my car daily...short trips mostly...never once have I seen it act up. It once in a while takes an extra few seconds to load the playlists...but within a minute all is perfect again.

Have you had a total mess up with urs?

    Ricky,

That is terrible. I have had my car since july last year in Beirut, I dont live there full time...so I am always in and out every few months for a few weeks at a time. I have used 3 ipods and all work in terms of playlists, music and function. However the max playlists that the system displays is 15 (I think).

I have used the current ipod nano 16gon the market (with video recorder), it doesnt charge
I have used an Ipod 60g, same doesnt charge
I am currently using my older Ipod nano 8g works like a charm and charges.

I had to have a software update on the 612 side to get mine to work correctly, I have a gen 1 itouch that I have in the car now that works fine and charges. It doesn't always like my iphone if I try that in there, so I just leave the itouch in there full time.

Hmm - odd, will be at my dealer this afternoon, I'll ask them exactly what they did. The Bose guys that built the system are here in Boston and they know them well, so it may be that I got something special.

My old iPhone and old classic iPod worked perfectly in the 612 OTO with the Bose, but my iPhone 3GS really doesn't work all that well. It doesn't seem to charge (which is not unusual-- it's really finicky about charging), and bizarrely, if you're using it as an ipod it won't receive calls-- which is different from my other cars.

Having touched base with my guys today. What they ran on mine was a series of 3 bose update CDs, they have two sets, one from Bose direct and one from FNA. My itouch did not work before the update and worked fine after the update. Its "Ipod service update 1".

Best bet is to have your dealer call Steve Oldford @ Ferrari of New England. The update was to make it work with "newer" ipods.
