Yes. Works perfect. I use it all the time. I purchased a wire adapter with one end that connects to the i pod connector in the glove box (and very easy to keep the glove box shut) and the other end goes to your iPhone. It is about 3ft. long, so my phone can be on the passenger seat or in the center console. Tune2air can do the same thing via Bluetooth.

Are the 2014 458 Ipod connectors 30 pin? Just curious I ordered this $925 option. The reason I liked having my Iphone plugged directly to the connector is that it charges the phone in my BMW.

Does anyone know if you could do the same using a ipod to micro usb connector and attach an Android phone to listen to music?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but more than a year has passed since the last reply and I suspect that the state of the art has moved forward such that there may be more/better options offering more performance or flexibility with media control.

My current line of research is seeing if the iPod connector and stock radio in 2014 can be adapted to somehow use an Android phone instead of an iPod. I am wondering what kind of functionality is currently available?
    - Line-in functionality
    - Charging
    - Playlist/Music store access
    - Dash electronics/steering wheel integration
    - Bluetooth streaming input

I've seen a couple of types of products and wonder if anyone has played with them?

    You guys want this:
Amazon.com: ViseeO Tune2air WMA1000 - Wireless Bluetooth Music Interface Adapter for Car Audio Integration: Cell Phones & Accessories

    Viseeo Tune2Air WMA 1000

It is a small bluetooth dongle the size of a key fob that plugs into the built in ipod cable.
It works with iPhones and Android phones and tricks the vehicle into believing an ipod is plugged into the car, it allows you to use the steering wheel controls and to stream music via bluetooth all wirelessly.

After doing a ton of research (I too as was disappointed that the 458 does not have basic bluetooth streaming and wireless control functionality available on cars a fraction of the price for many years) I have concluded this is the only device on the market that performs this function.

You can charge your device separately with a regular cable to the cigarette lighter plug.

Several 458 owners have used this product, see thread here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/458-italia/389457-2013-bluetooth-music-streaming.html

I returned mine after 2 weeks of use. Connection was spotty at best. Practically every morning, I had to reestablish Bluetooth connectivity between my Iphone and the Tune2Air device. This became annoying enough to return the product and I've since parked an old Nano in the glove compartment with all my playlists.

I had a Ghibli loaner for a week and the Bluetooth connectivity was flawless. I miss Spotify but not enough to do Groundhog's day with the Tune2Air each morning.

Tune2air works but it's rubbish. Sound quality over Bluetooth is terrible compared to having the iPhone connect via cable. If sound quality doesn't bother you then go for it.

It also cuts in and out 2-3 times a song. The Bluetooth conection with it isn't the most reliable either.

That's really interesting to hear as I find the complete reverse. I'm prepared to put up with the Tune2Air's shortcomings because I find the sound quality via direct connection so poor.

I've no idea why that is and would love to resolve it if the quality really is better.
