iPod Touch and MS Outlook

I am looking at getting an iPod Touch in the near future. One of the things I would like to do is sync it with MS Outlook on my lap top so that I can look at contacts contacts and e-mails while not in the office.
Does anyone sync their iPod Touch with MS Outlook and how well does it work? When you sync the contacts I am told it will bring across the names, company, address, phone ect. But will the contact notes come over with the contact? Can you store MS Word and Excel documents on it?

If your company provide's Outlook Web Access then you can use the ipod touch to view and send emails (over wifi) It'll sync your contacts as well
