Who sells a cable that connects your iPod directly to your car's tuner and wires into the car's ignition ?

I want to try it out. Your head unit has to have the ability to control a CD changer to use it. The upside is that it's a digital connection so the sound quality will be way better than using the FM transmitter method or by using a cassette adapter.

    Hope this helps,

The Monster Cable deal looks to be a more flexible application in that it can be used on many brands, both OEM and aftermarket, the only pre-requisite seems to be that the head unit has the ability to control a CD changer.

Not the perfect solution because it does require compromise (you lose the use of your CD changer, ipod control is only via the head unit when plugged in, etc.) but for 99 bucks, it's worth a second look.

Has anyone here tried this product out already?

You need a cable called the Ice>Link by Dension..I think it is densionusa.com they are THE place for ipod intergration into your head..mind you at 199 it might make sense to just get a mp3 playing head but i think they have the best solution i have yet seen....cruthfield catalog has something similar as well....

Use a peripheral ipod to car converion kit, they run about $120.00 to $140.00, it works with anything from stock units & custom systems.

I am going with the Alpine CDA-9856 that has the Ipod "full Speed" connector. Instead of a seperate box that allows you to control the Ipod from the deck (Like the Pioneer I put in the boat) all it has is a single wire connector to the back of the deck.

Here it is on Alpine's web site:
    http://www.alpine-usa.com/en/products/product.php?model=CDA-9856

The cable you need is the Alpine KCE-422i from what I have read and the best thing is it's $30. For the Pioneer box for my boat it was another $120 if I remember right. The deck can be had on ebay for about $170. So, about $200 for a nice deck that can run the Ipod.

That's my .02, hope it helps.

PS. I want to put the Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.5 system in the doors if possible. I don't yet know if they fit.
Also, any ideas for a subwoofer. I cant find anywhere to put one. thanks.
