    Can someone recommend a digital IR temp gun?

    I want to check temps at various points in the 348 engine bay and perhaps the tires as well. What would be the highest temperature that I would encounter - I just want to make sure that the IR device can handle it

    I have a little Westward mod. 6JG66 that was under $90 and seems to work fine for my purposes.

    Bought a cheap-o device for something like $30 at Radio Shaft.
    Seems to work just fine but have not guaged it for accuracy.

    Exhaust temps can reach around and over 1000F. So get one in that range mate. :):)

    Yeah good point Pap.... that cheapo one that I was talking about would probably not do for exhaust. Several hundred degrees perhaps, but not over a grand.
