would have been cool if they at least got creative and did a single engine thing like the f20....

How long would it take for one of our F22’s or even an F15 to kill them

F35 would kill it before even seeing it. That "new"plane is full of the latest 1980s tech.

Someone even built a diorama of that encounter at a recent model show. I wasn't there, or I would have taken a closeup of the pilots. (Supposedly, Maverick is showing the finger, and Goose is holding the Polaroid.)

Again... where do the jet engines come from? It's one thing to rivet together some sheet metal. Something completely different creating actual functional parts like a jet engine and avionics..

Looks like an F-5, so maybe they are buying J-85s for them.

The J-85 with A/B weighs less than 500 lbs, so easy to fit and maintain.

My point to Jason is that we were an advanced nation 100 and not riding Camels in the desert and living in tents as most people of the Arabian Penninsula we’re back then.

The Wright Bros 1st flight was in 1903

Yup. The "first flight" was 1903. The first moon landing was 1969. So in 66 years the United States went from 0-100. So it took a lot less than 100 years to go from a craft made of wood and fabric to landing on the moon. 100 years is plenty of time for anyone to "catch up". So what's the problem everywhere else?

No my friend not trying to be difficult;) you’re insinuation was that 100 years ago we weren’t much different from Camel Jockeys in the Arabian Penninsula, so my response was one of surprise especially since I was assuming that you are an American and should know what our state of development was 100 years ago.

Let’s not start a pissing contest since that wasn’t my intention when I respond to your post;)

Great question! In the short term I would think that capitalism has allot to do with it and that fact that civilized/advanced people settled our country. For the whole pic of why certain peoples advanced while other cultures died, if you haven’t already read it read “Guns Germs and Steel” it’s an amazing book that explains it all.....eg why did Spain conquer South America and not vice versa.
