Hey, guys, was wondering if 2,500 is a fair deal for a slightly used MS Racing Exhaust Stage 1?? I need a sound improvement on my Murcie and I'm thinking this will do the job for the price, but I don't know what this exhaust cost brand new? Thanks

Stage 1 will not improve the sound, if you are trying to achieve the f1 sound (I assume) than you will need the stage 2.

I think it's a fair price...just look into the price of the stage II adds...It's really nothing more than a cat delete and some O2 sensor "trick chips" that fool the computer into thinking the O2 sensors are still there.

But they're right, just doing Stage one won't give you the "note" you're most likely looking for....it will improve the sound a little, but not enough to say to yourself "OH MY GOD"....Stage II however, like I have on mine....HOLY SMOKES it sounds FANTSTIC!

Highly recommended. Just call SP and get their price quote on a Stage one system, and compare real numbers for real numbers....their price will incude install...something you or an intelligent mechanic could do in an afternoon.

My comments below are in reference to the Lamborghini Murcielago:

IMO the difference between the Stage I exhaust and the stock exhaust is not that significant. To achieve the true/pure F1 sound you need to remove all four cats from the exhaust system.

I think Kaoss is down playing the effort involved in installing the Stage II system; perhaps he's very mechanically inclined and I'm just an ignorant consumer who got taken to the cleaners :)

Either way, I don't touch these cars from a mechanical standpoint, particularly when a computer chip and such is involved in the install (I hate engine check lights); so I rely on the experts to do the work for me and SP did a great job, and the work is guaranteed.

As I recall the Stage I is around 5k or 6k (so 2.5k is a good price in my book if the exhaust is in good condition) and the Stage II is around 10k. Obviously the Stage II is very expensive but it's one of only two exhausts I could find (and I researched for months on exhaust systems) that can produce the real F1 sound from these incredible engines.

FYI - the other exhaust I found that is close to the SP Stage II would be the Kriessig system but it will cost you 16k (and don't let the reps fool you on this one as they try and sell the 7k version that doesn't have the same sound as the demo car they have on line - which has the full system installed that includes test pipes and all four cats removed).

    Good luck
