I found a 97 Roadster I'm buying. I put my 92 in Dupount last week for $100K and already have 2 full price offers. Last night I was struggling with letting her go. Every time I go in the garage it pains me to see her go. My only option would be to rent a place to store her until I can expand my garage. Very special car that’s been very good to me... The 2WD seem to have a cult like following. All the people that called knew about the lightweight performance, no p/s, etc etc. What say you, let her go or keep it?

if you already have a hard time letting go you'll have a bigger pit of regret to deal with later.

Are you going to like all the modern features of the new cars ? Power steering on a Diablo feels over boosted. The Murcielago is much easier, to get around town. The 91/92/93 Diablo's are the last of the brutes.

I think it is so much car for the money.
It would be nice to keep it.

    Hey Frank!!

Why are you buying a '97 if you're so 'on the fence' to sell your '92?

If you need a place to keep it for the next 2 weeks (until my new truck is delivered) you're more than welcome to put it in my garage at my house in Weston. It will fit nicely next to my new CS that's being delivered later today!!!

Thanks guys.. You helped me confirm my thinking... she's a keeper. The reason for the 97 is I miss rag top (roadster).

Fred - are u serious about the CS? If so, that's great. You're 348 was also a keeper and I was surprised about you letting her go. PM me.
    Best

Hi Frank. Got your PM. PM'd back!!

Yes, very serious about the CS. (See the posts in the Florida section.) My 348 was an absolute "as new" cherry. I regretted selling it about 2 hours after it was gone, and ever since. Although, I'm happy to know that it went to a good home w/ another F-chatter. I am SURE the new CS will erase any lingering regrets!!!

If you're bent on buying the '97, my suggestion to you is to keep your '92 until you decide for sure (unless you're getting "trade in" credit for sales tax purposes on your '92). I know you can afford to do this, so peace of mind is worth it. Believe me, when you sell a cherry car that can't easily be duplicated, you better be sure you want it gone (see above). But, I think once you get your '97, you probably won't look back.

I was offering $90 cash as a joke.. Sometimes written word jokes dont go over without the verbal delivery and body language.. Sorry if i offended anyone. Im sure it is an incredible car. Ive yet to meet an Fchatter that didnt pamper their ride(s).

if it makes you feel any better, i offered franklie 89k for his creampuff. franklie is the last person to be offended. you just never know.....knowing him, he might just suprise me and write off the rest as "charitable contribution".

Cool..we're all friends. Now to the future--

TOM!-- I want more pictures! When is it hitting your driveway??! I know its your decision, and most people prefer the wing. Wings are nice, but if it isnt there, dont do it! That car is F'ing incredible without a wing. Its a work of art, man. Its doing 200MPH while its sitting in the driveway. DONT MESS WITH PERFECTION!

Get a wide angle lense.. I want to see a picture of the car, you and the biggest damn smile youre face has ever seen when its in your garage.

So happy for you. That car goes beyond the 92 you sold. I would take that over a Murcie any day of the week.

    Enjoy it!!

I wouldn't keep a regular 2wd one for collecting's sake, but an SE30 or other special edition.

Im by no means a Lambo guru, but wasnt the SV the only RWD Diablos made? I always figured the rest were awd.

As much as we were at odds about where the Diablo (Diablo vs. Miura) should stand in the history of Lamborghini, IMO, there are no other ways to own a Lamborghini Diablo other than R2WD. Yes, we can all argue about the benefit of AWD vs. RWD until we all turn blue, but the fact is, there is no subsitution to a high output, mid-engine, RWD setup. Especially for a pure sportscar, they just seem to give you that little extra feedback to your senses that an AWD can't as they are "too sterile". I think you know what I am talking about and you probably feel the same way too, if not, you would not be here asking this question. And I have a feeling that if you were to sell your 92' now, you will eventually regret it and ended up looking for another.
