What about rosso scuderia? Something about it intrigues me when I see them. My car is rosso corsa and if I buy another one it will likely be rosso corsa. I'm just afraid some people may be scared off by the brighter (arguably cooler) color.

I do think rosso corsa cars sell faster and do command a bit more than another car if everything else is equal. I also feel like around me the dealers have less red cars for sale than the other ones that tend to sit a bit on the floor.

My scudie is rosso scuderia. I had her for four years and one day decided to vinyl wrap her as I got bored of the colour. I had her wrapped in satin grey and finished with glossy yellow scuderia stripes. Loved it. But that love died after two weeks. Somehow I started falling ill...had a bout of bacterial fever that didnt seem to go away despite repeated sessions of antibiotics. I'm sure this is coincidental but it made mr realise how much I missed having a red Ferrari in my garage.

Needless to say I had the wrap removed and ordered a full detail...wash and wax. Now she's back to rosso scuderia and I love her even more now.

End of story. Hope I didn't bore anyone.

This thread made me do a little inventory. I guess I am mostly a non-red guy. Out of 15 or so...... only 2 have been red.

And of those 2, were there any other colours available? Or do I guess this was a GTO or F40!

Funny that a couple of years ago when the wife agreed to let me get a F car she said any color but red! So I just talked myself out of liking red over the last couple of years. In my mind I knew that any color other than red or black would work for me. I like the blues a lot, with the right interior, and titanium; heck even yellow...any color other than black I said all this time. Then a rare opportunity presented itself for a black car that was local to me and I jumped on it. Now I am learning black paint care and fussing over the car as I am sure we all do when it's just sitting there. Funny how these hobbies go, I don't know about squat about wrenching on an F-car but I can get all into the exterior care and bond that way when the weather is unfavorable outside. I can budget a little more toward the car exterior in the form of detailing and repaints because I didn't spring for a 430 so for me I am in a good place. It's all good, but the reality is that the car is so incredible and delivers so much of a visceral injection that it could be any darn color. Color became less of an issue for me than condition, miles and number of previous owners. YMMV
    Funny that...
Then when I told the wife I put a deposit down on a car she said, "oh jeeze it isn't red is it?" turns out I could have got a red one after all! Oh well, live and learn....your mate!

I think your wife talked to mine! I first wanted silver, but red was what was in the cards. My wife at first said the same to me. Now she says "No, red is the right color for her."

I never argue with the wife. :)

speaking from someone that is currently in the market for a 360.

Yes, generally speaking, from a first time buyers point of view, red is definitely more of a desirable color to many. particularly being my first 360, i'm hesitant to stray away from conventional wisdom; while there are other colors (black/black, yellow/black) to me that are very aesthetically pleasing, it IS a big investment and I don't want to chance any regrets down the road. red is the only color that I feel that I can purchase the car and have ZERO chance of regret, after a couple years if I change my mind, I can sell get a 430 or different color knowing it will be easier to unload. honestly, it really sounds like a savvy buyer trying to bring down the price. just up the ante, tell him you've been around the block and see what he's doing and you have had multiple interested prospective buyers.

I'm with the couple of folks here who focused on the business aspect of this. I've never bought or sold a ferrari, but I've bought and sold lots of other things.

As a seller only you know what your floor is, how desperate you are, etc.

Conversely only the buyer knows what his budget really is, what he can *actually* afford, really values, etc.

Analyzing and debating all of that is a waste of time, IMO. Personally I don't like "horse trading". Time is too short for that.

If you don't like the guys offer and posture, and aren't desperate, wish him good luck and move on.

Until someone blinks these transactions sit in limbo. You can't really "prove" to him that he needs to reach deeper. He either won't, or already is aware of it, or can't, or is bluffing. Only one way to find out which and it isn't going to be Ferrari Chat evidence.

everything else aside, I was answering OP's original thread topic. Answer is generally speaking, yes, with everything else being pretty much the same; which he indicated it was in his original post. Everything else is just semantics.

Well, ask him why he doesn't just buy the black car then.

I think the color just expands the buyer market and not necessarily the price as there are also generally more red cars out there than other cars along with more buyers. However, if he wants a red car and not a black car, you can get more money out of him. How much is depends on how badly he wants a red car instead of a black one.

I like different colors on different cars, tbh. I wanted yellow, so that's what I bought. I would have had more selection if I had wanted red, so it was more a detriment than help as a buyer.

Not only is red the most desired, it's also the fastest color!
