Isnt Pagani buying back early zondas (including F) to make all those one off which are all more gaudy and tasteless than the previous one?

Yeah I think the LM versions are pretty ugly. I really like them up to the 760s. After that it just seems like an outdated silhouette with unnecessary modifications. Not sure why they just focus on building the huayra and focus on the successor instead of trying to milk the greatest hits compilations.

I quite like the front end of the LM's (though prefer the cinque front, like 760 but without the smiley). Dislike the wing (endplates) and the ''double'' rear lights...blacked out circles and the R style rear lights. Problem is that the R style rear lights are not tested, and the circles are legal.

My perfect Zonda will be a manual coupe, with 760 engine and rear wing, snorkel roof, Cinque body and paint scheme; body in Azzurro blue with italian stripe down the middle. Interior in black alcantara and the aluminium anodized in black to tone it down a bit.

Yep I don't think he'll worry Ferrari/Mclaren too quickly. Though if he where to build a smaller car, with an AMG V8 (they sound fanastic), to rival the 488/650S (probably at a higher price point though, F12ish money), it would be a big cash injection.

Very much agree RE the Huayra V12 turbo engine. I definitely like the looks of the car (though it had to grow on me, and many others) but the sound is a complete let down. I know he wanted a V12, but honestly, the V8 that was initially offered would've been a better choice. The Zonda has been a great car for a long time, but it reached true God status when Horatio fitted the 6-1 exhaust for the F and subsequent cars. Sound is a big thing with cars...I'm willing to bet that the 599 GTO would be worth half what it is now if it sounded like a normal 599 GTB.

Are new chassis really such a big problem? Surely the time to make it then? And now he's moved into a bigger facility, should make things easier I'd say. His big issue (for Zonda's) was the engine from AMG...to get a new engine made would require all sorts of difficulties for AMG, resulting in engine costs at €300K a pop and need 5 engines ordered at once.

Used Huayra's were moving for about $1.7mm and magically about three months ago they all jumped immediately to $2.5m listings. Strange.

You have very good taste, I'd have mine the same barring the black anodizing.

My understand after reading a recent article is that the Chiron will make a small profit per unit sold.

Ok thank you. I'm assuming it was rebuilt by Ferrari themselves and is every bit as good as new? Or would that lead to complications with the actual car after some thousands of miles in your view?

I wish I had this type of problem.

But all joking aside, get the one you love the most.

For me, it would be the F50.
