    I have a Samsung 55" 3D tv and it does a creditable job converting 2D to 3D.
The only problem I have noticed dark cars like Red Bull's nose in same shots looks like it is in the back ground.

Not hardly. My cable DVR is fracked, so I'm going retro and taping the race on VHS!

To Comcast's credit, they are sending a repairman tomorrow afternoon.

why not just download a torrent instead, there are plenty of people that seed races in HD. Much better than anything VHS for sure.
That's what I do when I miss a race, got to racing underground, the races are seeded within hours of the race.

Hey, as long as I get to watch it I'm okay. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

I just don't understand this logic. What's the point of having a big screen, HDTV, surround sound, 3D, and all the other bells and whistles? just my opinion of course. ;)

It's just a one-time thing until the cable guy fixes it. I just want to see the race. The lack of HD is incidental.

You must have a Samsung 9000 series, same as mine!! The best picture in TV's period with 8,000,000 to 1 ratio and 240hrz on LED = heaven!!!
I stayed with the 2d, the HD broadcast was really stunning!

By the way, this and one of the Sony's are the only 2 TV's to convert any pic from 2d to 3d!
