I am looking at one for my Euro spec Daytona.

How do they sound (like the original, Tubi like or ????)
    Any noticable performance gains?

    Thanks.

I recently completed a Certification by the Ferrari Classiche dept. who carefully reviewed the exhaust system for originality.
So - If there is any chance of having your loved one certified, know that Stebro will be a problem.

Last I checked Euro spec Ansa's were available for Daytonas, but not US spec.I think you would be better off with an Ansa in terns of appearance and sound. They were not that expensive

BTW the original Ansa on my Daytona lasted 30 years, and my C4 has the original Ansa exhaust system

I have heard that Sterbo systems are not good. If you are going with stainless, Timevalve would be my choice. They are nice people to talk to on the phone and I think they would go the extra mile to solve an installation problem. What ever you do, do not get involved with Tubi for a vintage car. I stupidly purchased one and the chrome tips were deeply scrached, and the system did not fit. After a couple of months dealing with the problem on the phone then sending it back, Tubi USA charged me a 20% restocking charge. plus all shipping charges. I was out over a grand. I later found out that prior to me getting the system it had been bounced around from dealer to dealer, and several car shows. Over the years I have found that most all car parts retailers are good people. Tubi is not. In the end I realized the proper thing to do was put an Ansa system on the car. It has the proper sound that a Ferrari V12 should have.

I put a Stebro on the GTC. I have just limited experience with it so far but it arrived quickly, fit fine, looks good, and it sounds correct. I have a not very old ANSA system hanging on my garage wall now with a little bit of rust already working it's way through the tailpipes.

Not a Daytona, but I have a Stebro on a 246 GTS. Looks good, seems well made (although I had to replace two tailpipe inserts that blew out, the first was free and the second cost about 25 bucks). However, I will say that it's quite LOUD compared to the original Ansa. Everybody loves the sound, though...

I think it makes a bit more power at the top end, but I don't redline the old gal too often anymore.

I cannot tell you anything about Stebro....

But, My Daytona has a very expensive English sourced all stainless exhaust system that is an exact duplicate of the factory Ansa system except in stainless. My car is a '69 Euro and has slip over pipes.

I really was not happy with the way it sounded. It seemed too sedate and I wanted something with a bit more pop if you know what I mean. After soliciting suggestions from lots of Daytona owners, Bill Badurski convinced me that just replacing the center section of the exhaust with straight pipes would result in what I wanted.

So, a trip to Midas and $250 later I had straight pipe center sections and the car now sounds fantastic. At idle and low revs is a nice deep velvet smooth rumble that is totally unobtrusive. At over 5000rpm it emits a V12 shreek that is just awesome. Coupled with the howl of velocity stacks the overall effect at 5K+ is both intoxicating and addictive. My wife claims she hear me coming home from over a mile away when im standing on it!

Its a cheap try.... give straight pipes a shot with he stock factory rear resonators.

I did exactly the same thing and I agree with you on the sound!

That said, I do have dyno data that shows that our setup actually makes less horsepower than the stock system, even though it doesn't feel like it at high RPM. I did notice a hole in the torque from about 3000-5000 RPM.

This is verified by the dyno curves. My engine guy, from whom I got the data says it is due to a lack of mixing in our setups, which is provided by the first muffler in each exhaust train. He says if we install a crossover on each side between the two pipes there, we should get back the original performance.

    I'm thinking about it.
