Did anyone see that Aussie skateboarder Jake Brown? He took a 40 foot straight drop to the ground onto his rear!!!! I thought he was dead...it was completely crazy!

He took that really well, turned his body to take the fall. Well done.

I was just watching some of the dirt bike tricks. Seeing those really made my jaw drop. It's amazing how they can land some of those tricks almost perfectly. Especially the winning one where he completely spins around on the bike in mid air. That's insane! I just saw the replay of Jake Browns fall. I've never seen a fall like that, it's crazy! It's good that he ended up okay. The X-Games are really something to watch.

Ah, they finally showed the replay after the MXflipathon

That was his patented Backflop. He's gonna feel it tomorrow, though. And the next day. And...

The bar I was at last night was playing the big air contest, so of course glued to the TV... I almost crapped myself when he took that fall. It's without a doubt the biggest slam I've ever seen. Up until then it was Chris Miller's slam in the square portion of the combi-pool at the Upland Pipeline back in '84/'85. Slammed straight to the bottom of the 15' concrete bowl and actually puked from the impact. It's amazing how people can take falls like this and walk away, yet you hear about people dying after slipping in the shower or tripping down a few stairs. I have no idea how Burnquist watched that happen and then immediately pulled off a switch backside ollie into a 19' frontside 5 though. Jason Ellis actually said he won't compete again next year after watching Brown slam that hard.

Yeah, I really felt for Bob. He laid there on the ramp for some time after he managed to pull it off.

By far the wildest opening day of X games ever... Some of the tricks in MotoX was sick, the stripper backflip for one, and the kiss of death backflip=insane. X gamers + big sacks = jawdropping

That fall was ridiculous, I watched it lived and kept rewinding my DVR to see just how far he fell, I was sure he was gonna pool blood all over the ramp. His read and nexk snapped reallllly bad, can't believe he walked away.

The 720 was SICK tho! I think he should have won gold, his earlier trick was better than Bob's, just less technical.

And I didn't like the MotoX Best Trick, a spin around on the side of the bike with lots of time left in the air. There were much better and biger tricks thrown.

Saw this last night as well while channel surfing. Shocking that he walked away. Wouldn't be suprised if this event got pulled...too dangerous IMO.
