Except for a few improvements and conversion specific additions, all the conversion parts are really Ferrari factory manual car parts.

So why is Ferrari no longer supplying spare parts for many cars they made years ago? Because the market is very small and it makes no economic sense. Note that a lot of original Ferrari parts suppliers are now out of business and even if the original drawings and processes could still be found, manufacturing techniques have changed, and quite a bit of engineering would have to be done. All that to sell a few hundred units or a bit more over many years?

Selling a few additional brand new cars instead will generate more profits for Ferrari without all the hassle. And small niche manufacturers will fill any void in the parts needed for the old cars.

Yes, the original ECUs can be reprogrammed to work in the conversion.

How does dr s compare to lucerna? Is dr s fabrication as strong and light as lucerna claims theirs is?

Anyone can make any claims they want.

I've just read the updated EAG website btw - very impressive, great kits and the company sounds very trustworthy!

Cambio Manuale (Dr S) parts are on average as strong as original Ferrari or in some cases stronger. I don't know about the weight, but if someone is choosing one conversion kit over another over a couple of pounds weight difference, so be it. Minor weight difference (if it exists) is a wrong topic for street driving, extreme races wanting to be faster by 0.001 sec can consider it, but will do much better keeping F1.

I would rather look at manufacturer's history and experience in making kits and specially supporting them.

Interestingly EAG comes up second in my search results.

(Even though I don't think it means anything except for search engine optimizations :)

I started running business pages for a business again after a 7 year hiatus, and I honestly can't make sense of how Google puts which business at the top.

kept all the originals of everything so I could convert back if I wasn't happy

I am very happy and wont be converting back so I guess it was a waste but I felt better keeping everything original and tucking it away just in case

The fact that you had to watch Dan's videos to know about this makes you a hater who is infatuated with Dan.

When you feel up to it, feel free to give us another tutorial. I tried to drive the SuperAmerica kinda like a manual, but it wasn’t that smooth. I ended up short shifting.

One must have to have stock to have an overstock sale, right?

or is this just more robbing Peter to pay Paul?

I realize this is a very emotionally charged issue and don't pretend for a second to know the mindset of those standing accused or the defenders thereof. But having read much about collapsed businesses and seen too many episodes of American Greed - which is not just greed but a huge dose of crazy thrown in - the plot lines seem eerily consistent.

Often, someone starts off with a good idea and a good intention to save their part of the world. It is soon fueled by popularity of having hit some market stride and takes off. Then things split among two types.

A normal growth arc for people with decent business sense is managed according to a longer strategy to maintain a) market trust b) work flow and importantly c) cash flow and profit. They may be personally gifted to manage or hire those who are and accept the order. This group does not make it to American Greed.

    This other group does.

They mismanage a short view of having 'made it big' or even showboat the windfall at the peril of a, b, and c above. Chaos ensues, often to the surprise of the once-honest visionary, who is forced to either take responsibility (unlikely) or get out a big-ass broom and start sweeping things under various rugs. The financial hurricane, relational wreckage and desperate actions then make for good drama. It seems we are viewing this episode here.

I realize there are detractors aplenty and fewer remaining supporters of the EAG debacle. I've no vote on that, yet my heart goes to those hurt financially and mostly to those who feel the trust they'd invested was trampled along the way. Betrayal tends to linger in the heart long after the financial healing. I'm sorry for those who are going through that now.

Hopefully those on Fchat who've witnessed this unfold over the last couple years will be patient, try to see the other side, resist the 'told you so's', and do our best to reclaim the community which drew us together in the first place. Godspeed to the healing.

I had issue with the company over 4 years ago. In the end my car works great. I had to have my mechanic work on the problems when it was returned to me and I have not had a problem for 4 years. At least I have all Ferrari parts except the clutch pedal. I have no clue what happened to the company. It does not sould good.
