I have to travel from Phoenix to Miami with an enclosed car trailer and was trying to find out if I-10 was open or should I take I-20? Thanks in advance for any info. Glenn

I-10 east and west is closed above New Orleans East where it crosses the Lake. Both sides are knocked out.

Do you recommend I-20 or are there local detours worth taking? Thanks!

My Mom crossed the highway 11 bridge (parallel to the I-10 twinspan that no longer exists) the other day going from Slidell to New Orleans.

I've been using i-12 with no real problems. it slows down every now and then for unknown reasons and sometimes comes to a stop for a few minutes.

It lets you bypass the city and i-10 and join it again as you can see by the map above.

I hate to be the one to bing another car through I-12 in Mandeville but I-12 is the way to go pick up 12 in Baton Rouge and 10 in Slidell, oh and since you are towing something stay in the right hand lane and do not leave it :)
