Ordinarily I enjoy washing the car myself, but the heat index is 111 degrees today, and I start sweating just thinking about going out there. I've driven the car a couple times since it's last cleaning, and it needs a wash badly...

Shouldn't be a big deal to take it over to the autobell carwash nearby? right??

Absolutely no way I would take my 360 through any carwash no matter how dirty it was. Think of the potential risks..wheels could get damaged on the metal runners, not to mention all the filthy dirty cars and trucks that went through before your car. I am sure all that crap could be stuck in the washers. You run the risk of scratching the paint etc.... Just wait until tonight when it cools off a bit.

Oh one other thing, they may have a hand wash service vs going through the actual carwash. Might cost you more but it would be well worth it. Also look in the phone book for Mobile Car Washers, these guys come to your house and do it right there in your driveway!!

appreciate it... I decided, screw it, and took it to the autobell up the street. Turns out they wouldn't take it through the wash anyway, but they did do a nice job on the wheels and tires for $10.00...

I would only consider touchless carwash (only using waterjets spray and blow dry) as a temporally solution until I can wash it myself the next time.

I've on occasion carefully sprayed down my car at the car wash, but I would never allow anyone else to touch it. Too many chances for scratches....scratches that may temporarily be filled in by their "wax"...but they will show up eventually. On REALLY hot days I will wash the car and when I get warm...heck...I've got a hose in my hand, just spray myself down - no biggie.

washing your car is one of the joy of owning it. Why pay money for someone else to do it?

Yeah, I haven't found anyone that I trust to wash mine. I haven't really asked around about it though.

I agree that I enjoy washing it myself.

I run mine through the local car wash all the time. It's a daily driver, not a weekend toy, so it get's quite dirty. Every two to three months it'll get a complete detail to polish out all the scratches.

Use the Do It Yourself washes. For $5 you'll get a decent wash & wax. Don't worry, the pressure is not high enough to remove paint... these are not the same pressure washers used on homes.

Depends on the machine. mine fits just barely on one local machine, but can't clear the tracks on another.

I've had my 360 since march and haven't washed it yet. 700 pampered miles in perfect conditions and it gets a very good soaking of Finish Kare 425. Car looks great, no scratches from me, etc. Microfibre towel, FK425 and I stay on top of it.

I have never taken any of my sports cars to a carwash and iam talking about Vettes,Vipers and cars of that price point...I KNOW my 09 SCUD WILL NEVER see anything like that...So to answer your question are you crazy..? No..maybe stupid as to what can happen to it but it depends on how you view your car........In the end it is YOUR car so do whatever you like..

I only use touchless car washes, and that's on my 10 year old BMW. I would not take an exotic through any computerized car wash as the wheels may be wider than the engagement rails, different wheel diameter, and finally, low ride height. There are many, many ways it can get damaged.

I DID take my lotus to coin self-washes many times for a quick high pressure soap, rinse, and dry. I would never put their brush on my paint though.
