    Hello chatters. I am Italian and Modena is pronounced the same way in all of Italy. What ALPINTOURER has posted on his 2 seconds video is the correct way to pronounce it.

    So, for those who can't play the audio clip, it's MOE-de-na. Good to know. I always thought it was moe-DEE-na.

    I am American but lived in Italy and continue to be fluent. To spell it out phonetically:

    MOE - day - nah.

    It is unusual because the accent is on the first syllable, not the second to last as is the usual rule in Italian

    Don't think it's "day" with a long "a." From the recording it's MOE-de-na with the "e" making an "eh" sound.

    I'm not Italian but play one on TV.

    My father was from there and I've spent a lot of time there and also speak Modenese. Italian was my first language learned.
