There is so little to download. Does anyone know of any unofficial vendors that sell recorded copies of old F1 races? I would love to see some of the 80s/early 90s stuff. Any recomendation would be helpfull.

    Thanks,
    Chris

I have most of the F1 races dating back to the mid 80's.
They are from ESPN and direct C-band broadcasts. Also some are Beta format.
I don't know the LEGAL problems that dupliciation for Profit or to recover
    costs.
A couple of years ago I built a computer so I could copy them to VCD's (video cd) and DVD's but so far I look at the box's of tapes and do something
    else.

I have a couple of VHS recorders and watching a program recorded on one and played on the other there is a BIG quality drop.

The best option I think is DVD as there is not the quality drop BUT
there is compatabilty issues. Some times they just won't play.

I would be willing to try a race if I would not be exposed to legal problems.

We would be using the mail and that would be another potential legal problem.

Check on ebay, i was able to get the 89 and 90 season recorded from the BBC broadcasts. The only warning on that is most of the DVD's won't play on an american DVD player so you might end up watching them on your comp if you have a dvd player or having them converted which can be pricey.

Ebay is a good source. Also check out Duke Video on the Isle of Man.
