A bearing broke on the jack (Mondial 3.2) -- has anybody else encountered this problem and is it possible to get a replacement bearing. Picture is below

Can you take it apart and get the dimensions of the bearing?

Try a machine shop, auto or otherwise. I'd bet they can fix the thing affordably.
How'd it break? Jacking the car?

Of course I have to ask: is this jack really all that special, apart from being the "original factory jack?" Would a replacement scissors jack from Pep Boys or whatever do the job? If so, keep the broken original one for the next owner and carry a new one to use yourself, maybe?

Thanks for the input. It didn't break suddenly, but just was getting more and more difficult to turn, then I noticed ball bearings falling out on the floor which I thought was probably not a very good sign. I will try taking it apart to see if the bearing can be matched. It has a "double nut" on the end of the jack -- I will try to break that loose. I would like to fix the original jack if possible rather than replace it because I am a nut about originality.
