Car is a Euro spec so a B in 8th digit of vin with left hand drive. Front and rear bumpers do not have side markers. Speedometer is in km.
Wondering what would have to be done to federalize it to get a US title.
Has anyone done this with a 430 since it isn’t over 25 years old?

Yes, it can be done but expect to pay $20-40K total to get it here including EPA and DOT conversion, testing, shipping, customs, and insurance.

Thanks! I’ve read guidelines on the EPA and DOT conversion. Do you know who I could contact to get specifics on what would be required for this car specifically?

You also need to look at whether you will be restricted to federal “show and display” status (mileage restrictions, etc). If so, not worth importing before the 25 year mark is hit because it can’t then be converted back to normal status even after 25 years (from my understanding). So resale value would be forever crushed. I’m not an expert though. Just something to consider.

Why? There are plenty of US Scuds for sale- makes zero sense-

Craig- The only way to do it is to use an approved conversion shop. No way to do it yourself now.

    More. Much more.

430 Scud is not eligible for show or display and not on the nonconforming eligibility list. You'll have to hire a registered importer to import the car and petition NHTSA. Once petition is granted, the RI will modify the car for FMVSS, then make sure it passes EPA emissions.

Will take 12-18 months and likely low 6 figures all in. Not worth it to me.

The only F430 allowed under nonconforming eligibility are cars built before September 1, 2006, as they are exempt from the advanced airbag requirements. Ferrari NA got an exemption from NHTSA that does not apply to non-US spec cars after that date.

Sounds about right. My estimate was based on old information. I imported a couple of gray market cars in the good old days. Not possible now the way we used to do it. Too much possibility of fraud.
